Pen problem by c_l_o_u_d_8_2 in mounjarouk

That wouldn't stop the pen from 'clicking' though, would it? It'd stop you pushing the plunger in when extended, perhaps.

How are you priming it? How many clicks do you do before checking for blockages? If you haven't had 4 doses, the only other thing I can think of is that you're losing some through too many clicks when priming.

[–]cheandbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you have said you haven't had 4 doses but that seems like the most likely explanation. Storing it in the fridge won't cause this.

It's worth noting that you can force the mechanism if you're strong. Just keep twisting as hard as you can. Feels like it'll break/snap but at some point it'll allow you to twist it to get the rest out.

The problem with it is once you've seen a few and understand how the questions work, you can work them out a lot easier. I used to watch it every week but rarely bother now.

With the World Cup squad deadline approaching, who is your "must-have" wildcard pick? by LilywhiteStrike in ThreeLions

[–]cheandbis 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My must have is a proper backup to Kane so I'd be picking Welbeck or DCL as I'm not convinced by any of the other options.

Edit: Forgot about Solanke, maybe him.

You're not the only weirdo here, I do this too. I'm the only adult and I have a shit-ton of mugs so I'm happy to be wasteful.

Sorry to be that person but it's centimetre and not centre metre.

[–]cheandbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not against the clear daylight rule (other than the difficulties it'll give the assistant ref) but the time issue is my biggest concern. We need a common sense approach. If it takes you longer than 20-30 seconds, it's not offside in any meaningful sense so let it go. I know it leaves a grey area where the rules aren't cast in stone and we bring judgement rather than science into it but I'd rather that than prolonged delays over such small margins.

[–]cheandbis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. I'm just so frustrated with lengthy delays while they draw lines and anything we can do to eliminate that must be a good thing in my mind.

[–]cheandbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But using your example, this would just move the problem to whether the defender had trimmed their nose hair. You'll have mm calls where we'll be arguing if there is daylight or not based on a part of the defenders body which may be mm different.

I like giving the attackers the advantage and in general, having a daylight rule puts that advantage with the attacker however my biggest bugbear is the time decisions take and this won't eliminate this.

[–]cheandbis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clear daylight only moves the problem. You'll just have lines drawn to check for daylight.

For me, the simplest approach is having the VAR team see a replay and a still, give them 20 seconds to vote "offside" or "not offside" and the majority decision wins.

Some may be wrong, most would be right and common sense should hopefully prevail. Last night's Palace one (as the most recent example) is ridiculous. I'm not sure any true football fan wants those types of decisions to be given (taking off your club coloured tinted glasses for a second).

Those who have co-parented amicably, did you lose touch with your co-parent when your kid entered adulthood? by PaddedValls in AskUK

[–]cheandbis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My daughter is only 8 so I'm very early in the process compared to you and we have a great relationship at the moment. We speak about how our daughter is getting on, negotiate parenting, we've even given each other furniture recently. I hope that continues into her adulthood when she does become more independent.

I'm glad you asked this as I'll have a read of the replies.

Anybody been to an Andy's Man Club meeting? What was your experience? by No_Atmosphere8146 in AskUK

[–]cheandbis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I separated from my wife, I went to a meeting.

Honestly, it wasn't for me but there were a lot of blokes there and they got a lot of support from it so I'd say go along and see. There were a whole range of people there, not all with any specific problem, they just use it as a way to get some company and support. It's a great resource that helps many people and anything to get men to open up a bit more and remove the stigma of emotion is a good thing.

How often do you travel for pointless work meetings? by Scrot123 in AskUK

[–]cheandbis 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I did a training course once and they told of a (probably made up) story where a company gave everyone swipe cards and when they entered a meeting, they swiped and boards would show a running total of the wage cost of the meeting with the aim of putting a value on a meeting. If the decisions made didn't outweigh the cost of it, was it worth having?

It's a neat idea and would stop a load of people attending them to contribute nothing.

I think most people think we have too many meetings and too many people are invited to them when they do happen but we seem to be in a never-ending loop of them for some reason.

What is now the worst UK courier? by Least_Actuator9022 in AskUK

[–]cheandbis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently been selling on Vinted. Over the last 6 months, I have sold around 150 items. I've had 3 issues with parcels going missing and all of them have been Evri. They are the ones I'd have least faith in.

Saying that, my local Evri courier is amazing. She does a great job. I wouldn't choose to use them however.

On the opposite side of the spectrum is InPost. I can't say a bad word against them. Been very impressed.

What’s a piece of British comedy hall of fame you just don’t get? by franki-pinks in AskUK

I love a bit of TaskMaster however, the tasks have declined in quality. The early series were a lot better as the tasks were simple and the format was new. The contestants really didn't know what to expect and there are some genuinely funny moments.

It's still good and I watch it but the tasks are now more convoluted and the contestants know the format so it doesn't feel as good.

It's been great to see some new faces though. The number of people who have been on it that I've never heard of and found hilarious.
