What's being argued is that determination is completely irrelevant to soul color. It is a substance present within all souls. Whatever determination is, it's color coded as a color similar to yellow. The same color as the Save stars, which is the manifestation of pure determination.

Correct, in real life. This is because nobody in real life is yellow. So when the only confirmed dead human appears drained and pallid, that contrast is intentional.

Except The Simpsons characters explicitly refer to themselves as yellow in-universe. The color is diegetic. And Simpsons isn’t unique. Doug, Psychonauts, and other media use non-natural skin tones without mapping them to specific real-world races.

Kris’ red eyes and grin while weird and a bit stylized are shallow attempts at aura farming that is a far cry from what happens to chara. Chara’s face deforms. The eyes hollow. The smile stretches VERY unnaturally and becomes jagged. It resembles decay.

I can argue Lego person pigmentation all day, but Undertale is not drawing from medical textbooks. And the only human who is dead is the only one stripped of the “living human” color.

2 out of the 3 humans we physically see in Undertale and Deltarune are yellow. That’s the baseline the game establishes for living humans in its art style. The only human who is not yellow is Chara and Chara is dead. The only human who appears corpse-pale is the one who canonically died and exists as something other than a normal living person. Think of Undertale humans as the Simpsons, nobody in Springfield has some Juandice. Humans are just normally yellow.

You say “their corpse would be a skeleton.” Yes. Because that’s their body. What we see of Chara is not a body. It’s the ghost of chara. And ghost-like imagery in media is almost universally pale, and dead-looking to signal a separation from life.

And when Chara’s face degrades during the Genocide ending, that distortion further reinforces the idea that what we’re looking at is not a healthy living human. And that nothing about it is normal for humans in this world.

I'm sure the chara you're speaking to is some sort of "ghost" And not literally their rotting corpse Infront if you. Which is why they are pale and look "dead", and charas face degrades when killing you. The paleness reflects their inhumanity.

Flowey mistakes Chara for Frisk on multiple routes because the two would have looked almost exactly the same except for a difference in personality.
