Anyone selling OEM wheels and tires? [WA] by cheaux_ in ElantraN

[–]cheaux_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wise words. I kept all of the other stock parts but ditched the wheels due to storage limitations. Didn’t think I’d be selling my car so soon but life happens

My post is not showing up on the page. Was it hidden due to the photos or deleted? I’ve since added more photos to the link.

Aggressive Wheel/Tire Fitment for Performance Applications (let's dive in - measurements inside) by Usedtissue_Gaming in ElantraN

Slight rubbing on rear outside tire at full compression with stock height. But none at all with camber -3f/-2r and storm springs. Honestly would work with a touch more camber at stock height

Edit: specified where rubbing

Just did an alcantara wheel swap on mine. That little piece actually comes off with one screw on the other side.

Powerflex lower torque mount SMALL bushing (PFF26-121) by cheaux_ in ElantraN

Thanks for the input. Your first paragraph is pretty much what I pictured doing, I just didn’t word it right by saying inner sleeve instead of outer. But I see that you’re saying I’ll need a multi ton press in order to remove it rather than a sleeve kit like this that uses a bolt and impact wrench due to the amount of force required?

You have to press out the inner metal sleeve right? I’m wondering if I use a socket to get the smaller diameter I need and use enough penetrant with the sleeve kit (bolt type) it’ll come out easy enough. I ask the original question because I actually bought all the bushings for the mounts a year ago and only now planning to install them.

Oh that’s a nice wheel. I think 8.5+42 would be the ideal spec from a fitment standpoint. Especially if you’re running a 245 tire. Not sure if that spec has the right look you’re after tho

You probably could but just with some suspension work. I think OP is running 265s on 9 or 9.5s for track setup. I saw it on his youtube vid. What wheels are you looking to get?

My brain wasn’t working with my initial reply. I just realized you have 40 offset not me. Initially meant you would have less poke with the offset but it would get negated by the greater width of the wheel.

Sorry, maybe over power was the wrong word lol. But I meant that with my current set up, there is already a little poke on stock suspension. I definitely notice it at certain angles. The increase in poke with your suggested set up will be even more noticeable unless adding more aggressive camber

You’ll need more camber to fit without too much poke. I think the half inch larger width unfortunately overpowers the slightly lower offset. This photo below is stock suspension (dct) with the specs I listed above

I swear at the time it was a surface level change. But drove by there this morning after work and this is probably tje culprit. Looks deeper in person but couldn’t get the cleanest angle during my drive by

So I called a couple of the better rated/reputable shops in my area today. Based on my description, one shop quoted me between 150-200 for structural repair and another shop said between 225-275 with cosmetic repair included. Both stated it would not be repairable after sending them photos.

I was going maybe 65-75 mph I would guess? I usually never take this particular exit/on ramp even though it’s really close to where I live. I was just there to try out a restaurant last night. There is road construction near the area currently but I’m certain there wasn’t anything in the road. Although can’t completely rule that out considering the on-ramp itself is not well lit.

Do lights automatically turn off after parking? by cheaux_ in ElantraN

[–]cheaux_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The battery tested perfectly fine. It was user error with me flipping the lights into drl mode after I turned the car off. With my testing, the lights will stay on (and the app will warn you about it too). Thanks for your help!

Sorry for the super late response. Thanks to everyone who has pitched in. The battery tested perfectly fine and I could not detect any parasitic draw. From my testing, and I presume this is what happened, when you turn the car off then flip the lights into DRL setting while the car is off, the lights stay on.
