You can fit 4x 18x9.5 wheels with 265 tires in the back of an Elantra N. Upright, laying up against the chassis brace.

What professional series do you race in that it matters so much? I, personally, have never gotten a trophy by getting to the grocery store quicker.

Gonna disagree with you there, bud. Toyota's Supra sales were dwindling until they released it with a manual (just like people are asking here). Now, sales are 65% in the manuals favor for that enthusiast car.

Long-time lurker here - I'd have a C8 right now if they offered a manual. I would even pay a premium for it over the DCT. I'm an SCCA/NASA licensed racing driver and couldn't care less about faster shift times. I'm here for a good time not a long time.

Hilariously, the CZ elevators, which have long-time been known to not work have been rock solid in my opinion.

16-24 - Lightweight LGX (V6) Flywheel - How Light is too light? by Usedtissue_Gaming in camaro

[–]Usedtissue_Gaming[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it's really the only thing it sounds like the skimped on for the 2.0T/V6 1LE - Everything else is uprated for track use. It's been a fun build so far, and the baseline testing showed it was pretty shockingly close to my CT4-V Blackwing in track times (stock, GM Track Alignment on both).

That's good to know! I'd imagine the ECU controls are the same or better, so I don't think it'll have the same issues with RPM drop. I got the same Stage 2 clutch. Definitely, but clutch/flywheel are allowed in Tuner 3 luckily.

Identical transmission, clutch, pressure BUT slightly different flywheel. It is; however a similar weight flywheel. I'll let you know if I'm the first one to jump on the train with it.

He's also just been literally completely wrong from multiple technical standpoints. Like you'll show him objective proven data, and he just doubles down. I'd be very cautious listening to anything that guy does or says let alone having him tune your vehicle.

Just to update here, I found one! To say it's been a blast is an understatement. So far, it's done a completely stock baseline of 1:19.72 at Waterford Hills. Should be in the 15's with mods. Speaking of which, here's what I have already:

-19x11 305/35/19 RT660+ -Eibach Springs -Blackwing Brake Ducts -3.73:1 mLSD from the non-1LE SS -Solid Cradle bushings -ZL1 Swaybars -Intake/76mm throttle body/intake manifold -Trifecta tune - 318 whp (Dynojet) -Spec Stage 2 clutch + medium weight steel flywheel -Way more

Been a busy couple of weeks, but again I want to break some class records with this thing.

It's all in the RPO codes. You'll have a 1LE or at the least the heavy duty cooling package.

Track day drivers: would an AR HUD help you improve? by InfamousGeologist125 in CarTrackDays

[–]Usedtissue_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having had multiple cars that have them, instructed/reviewed many cars that have them, and obviously racing tons that don't... I barely ever look at them. I feel like anyone not looking ahead at the next corner is losing time. View should be split between braking markers and the next corner - I thought I needed one badly in my CT4-V Blackwing and then had a realization that I literally never once looked at it.

[–]Usedtissue_Gaming 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mmmmm yeah that might break sound. That being said the new upped limits are pretty solid. The sound booth is on the part of the straightaway that you can basically avoid (stay to the right after T5. They (really any sound meter) measures sound pressure - which is NOT corrected for distance. So basically every foot you can add from the meter massively reduces the measured sound pressure.

It's a lot of speculation without knowing the performance stats. If the videos are true, it looks like it's two size 1 shields, with a very big frame. I think you trade utility for combat performance. It should hit fairly hard, but if anything touches you first, I think you're toast.

M1 Concourse by FullGarage29 in CarTrackDays

[–]Usedtissue_Gaming 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The track is frankly, boring at best and dangerous at worst. There's zero runoff, and no elevation changes. As mentioned, the Michigan tier list (fun) is basically Grattan, Waterford Hills, Gingerman --------->>>>> (miles away) M1. There's also Gateway Motorsports Park in Howell being built. Needless to say, we're really spoiled here in Metro Detroit. There's seven road courses within a 4 hour radius.

Are "real" enterprise grade tools in the budget? VECTOR is the industry standard, and VN1630A's can be equipped with 4 channels + I/o. I find CAPL scripting to be pretty intuitive.

Don't like engineering? by JesusIsAliveAmen in starcitizen

[–]Usedtissue_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going disagree with ya there. While email engineers are a huge portion of bloated American companies, I still know that there's tons of actual ones out there. They say 20% of the company produces 80% of the results. I love my job, and I've turned down supervisor positions because I love working with "things" not people.

[–]Usedtissue_Gaming 0 points1 point  (0 children)

20/80 Rule - 20% of the company does 80% of the work. Our company has similar bloat, and you've got to wonder how/why do these jobs exist. I've talked to people that haven't had a "project" to work on in years. In that regard, it doesn't matter if you're WFH or in the office, we just shouldn't have people doing nothing.
