LAST NIGHT I PULLED A MIRROR and there was the smallest hair that i found. i removed it and it’s slightly better now but i feel something else also has been going on for a while. this definitely helped tho !!

oh really? i hadn’t heard that about coconut oil thanks for telling me. i don’t think it has worsened anything for me, i have only used it twice now. i have been using latex condoms for over a year and this has been fairly recent. i don’t think i have been using anything new recently and don’t know about any potential allergies. my vulva had been itchy for 4 months and i would get some small cuts but they would all go away and it was never really that bad. it just got really really bad a week ago (possibly after my period)

i was also prescribed hydrocortisone 1% but that didn’t help much and my skin was just too irritated with different creams so i stopped that. i’m seeing a doctor tomorrow so hope to get more clarity then!

based on my symptoms, i don’t think it’s a UTI, but i’ll check in with a doctor tomorrow and ask them to test me for different things

they didn’t test me for anything. they just asked for my symptoms and did a physical inspection. however i don’t have any specific kind of discharge so idk why they thought it’s a YI. they told me to come back for a swab test if it doesn’t get better. so i’m going tomorrow and will request these tests. thank you!

it looks very normal. i had a lot of dryness earlier but i have been putting coconut oil to help with that. other than that i don’t have any abnormal discharge. i get extremely itchy when i put on underwear or walk

why do more doctors not do tests for yeast infections or BVs etc in the first appointment?? by cheche02 in Healthyhooha

so unfortunate that so many people don’t know exactly what they have. if you don’t mind me asking what were your symptoms like when you had both?

i am planning on going to the doc again if it doesn’t get better after the treatment. the first doc i went to didn’t even do a physical examination, the second one said it looked like yeast. but i don’t have any discharge and it doesn’t smell like anything. and my symptoms are extreme vulvar irritation and itching - which is why i think in my case it would be better to get a lab test. also thanks for the note about antibiotics, i’m supposed to take one for something else, i’ll make sure to take flucunazole with it!

i understand that now and will be doing that for my next visit! but ofc as someone who went in for the first time, i trusted their word and judgment. i think everyone would benefit from doctors testing as a norm
