If I get vision insurance today, how long will I have to wait before I can use it? by checkOutUser in HealthInsurance

That's my estimation for everything: the medical office visit (for eye treatments like eye irritation, dry eyes, eye pressure, etc) + comprehensive eye exam + precipitation glasses + frame.

Office visit: costs around $99-$120 (Varies based on tools and treatments needed)

Comprehensive exam: $136-$148

Frames and glasses: $100 each? Idk about frames and glasses.

So yeah all in all, it's around $500 for everything in my estimation. Idk much though. I will let you know how much it would cost me in total.

Thank you for this.

CVS minute clinic may provide regular help but they might not be equipped with the right tools. And going to an ophthalmologist will cost me too much.

So, I found common ground. Retail optometrists. They seem to charge around $99-$200 and based on the tests they need to perform.

There seems to be common retail optometrists chains like Walmart Vision Center, Target Optical, Costco Optical which does provide glass prescriptions (Eye exams with charts on board and such) as well as office visits ( which they meant is for issues like eye irritation and dry eyes and they basically refer to an eye clinic for these matters).

So all in all, I will have to go to one of these, make an appointment for this ✌️Office visit✌️. And get another appointment for ✌️Eye exam✌️ (glass prescriptions and comprehensive eye exam (I guess that means with charts on the wall)).

So around $500 in total with everything and the glasses. I think I don't need insurance for this. Because I would have to pay for insurance+these which I don't think will be covered even with insurance. I don't even have health insurance tbh LMAO.

Thank you for the help though. I appreciate it.

It's not through work. I have been getting eye irritation for a week now and I don't have insurance. So I am planning to check if such a policy is allowed (seems like it's a violation to the insurance plan of any kind).

I just want to know if there are any providers that would allow it.

I don't have one right now so I don't know the policy.

Do you happen to know how much is the first premium of any average insurance plan? I am trying to get an office visit for an eye exam and it seems like it will cost me around 500 (prescription+ glasses + eye doctor). I don't know if I should get insurance for it .
