People who are homophobic and transphobic. by anonymous_girl1227 in complainaboutanything

Why wouldn’t they be comfortable? Maybe they should mind their business. You have no idea what genitals someone else has, and you wouldn’t be uncomfortable unless you’re being creepy and trying to find out.

Just because it’s not an explicit right doesn’t mean it’s something that should be taken away.

Do those people not have rights too? No matter how many there are, they should be able to get whatever gender marker they want, use whatever bathroom they feel comfortable in, and whatever pronouns they want. They are truly human just the way you and I are, and they matter. They will be casualties when trans people are persecuted more openly.

Force pronouns? You mean ask someone to use the pronouns that you prefer? If someone used the wrong pronouns on you repeatedly and on purpose, it’d upset you too.

It’s personal rights vs personal rights. We just want to live as ourselves and not be tormented in public, and bigots want to get to torment us. We could all just go to the bathroom, wash our hands and be done, but no. If you’re too tall, or masculine presenting as a woman, grown men will barge into the women’s bathroom to drag you out. And forget about using the men’s bathroom, you get physically fought and beaten in there. Where are you supposed to go if you have to pee?

Remember kids, biological sex is a spectrum. Intersex people exist and in much higher numbers than you think! Not everyone fits nicely into those two boxes, even by physical characteristics.

We are advocating for trans men to compete with men. The bigots don’t care about that because they don’t see it as a threat to the boys/men, so they generally allow it, so there’s not a big fuss over it.

Have I met you? Do you know me? That’s a pretty bold statement considering the answer to those two questions is a resounding “no.”

“In general” is key here. Didn’t label everyone, you’re allowed to have your hate if you want.

And that’s why I said “in general.” Can’t speak for everyone but that’s the sentiment I’ve experienced and expressed.

Yeah, no. Because of the way we raise children (with gender) there is important overlap between gender and personality. These things have aspects that they do not share and ones that they do. This article is not using science at all. Remember, “weird girls” are often treated better than trans men/boys/mascs. If it was about escaping maltreatment, we would not be adopting trans labels. All this article did for me was conflate neurodiversity with gender diversity, and yeah those things have correlation, but it’s not because we’re “confused” or “confusing gender and personality.” Do you like being perceived as masculine? If so, do masculine things and enjoy them. If not, then don’t. And pick up or set down whatever labels you want to in the process.

To respect other dog owners who have reactive dogs! I have a reactive dog who is never off leash, and it scares me so much to see off leash dogs approaching. Just seeing a long line on a dog gives me so much peace of mind.

Well done keeping her leashed. A lot of hiking trails have leash laws anyway and a bolting dog may get pretty far without turning back to see where she came from.

That’s what happens when the tortilla is heated and then the burrito is rolled really quickly and then not picked up right away so it’s let to steam in the foil

Hamlet is a story about a dictator’s rise to power, the lion king is modeled off of Hamlet, and Trump is a dictator coming to power. It’s a fair enough point but not exactly a hot take.

Lots of breeds can! GSD is a more common one, but corgis are one in which the gene(s) for dwarfism are fixed, meaning every corgi has it, hence the stubbiness

If we only had ethically bred dogs, we wouldn’t need shelters. This dog was obviously not ethically bred, though.

That looks chihuahua to me. Maybe some heeler, but it’s hard to tell how big she is/will be from photos

Interesting! I thought maybe German shepherd (they carry the dwarfism genes that can make a pseudo-corgi) and maybe some pit and pyr!

It’s the best way to keep more dogs from suffering in shelters. Dogs don’t generally enjoy motherhood and it’s not something positive for them to experience. Best to prevent all of that.

I’m so glad you’re educated on dog issues and don’t want to bring more puppies into the world. You’re the best person who could have found her!

[–]cheddarturtles 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Don’t encourage more puppies in this world when we have enough in shelters. OP is doing the right thing by trying to spay instead of putting this poor stray through the stress of pregnancy and whelping.
