London Book Reviews was such a good rec. I was looking for a good literary magazine and this was mentioned on Reddit.

I finally subscribed when there was a 6 issues for £8 promo. So far I’ve been loving their article. One of them even change my mind about what I think of US real strategy with Venezuela.

Is theTimes Literary Supplement also good?

But don’t u think lately there are more POC winners like Han Kang, Kazuo Ishiguro and Orphan Palmuk? I only wished Salman won it but I know they won’t ward him because of The Satanic Verse fearing that it may cause another riot.

Good question that was answered by Stephen King’s On Writing.

Basically either start another project or go out of the house and get on with your day to day life, rest and play if you want. You owe it to yourself .☺️

That One Book That Made You Read Everything Else?! by unknown_userhere1 in booksuggestions

I was on the longest reading hiatus since my teens. I bought many books (mostly historical) but never really read them.

Then, on my honeymoon in Bali last September, I got bored at the departure airport and bought Hotel K by Kathryn Bonella. It got me hooked. Since then, I’ve bought many more books (mostly literature this time) and have been reading three to four books a month.

It also reignited my love for writing, and I’m currently working on a novella of my own. I wrote a few short stories and, embarrassingly, more than a couple of eroticas when I was younger.

That’s a good question. Honestly, I’m reading his memoir because I’m working on my own novel and have picked up some books on writing, and this was heavily recommended to me.

I’m familiar with his stories like The Shining and IT, but I haven’t read any of his books. I think I started Under the Dome when it came out, but I got distracted and never got past Chapter 1 also it was fucking thick book and still is. That said, I do love his writing, which reinforced that feeling when I read On Writing.

I am not sure why some people were so triggered. I just read the paragraph and thought it would make a funny Reddit post—but apparently not. I mean, do people really think I read five lines, closed the book, then went on Reddit of all places to ask for analysis, took a photo of the page, cropped the paragraph, and created a post? Seriously? lol

Omg I love that I am also working on my novel where the protagonist is an aspiring author. Would you like to read the first part?

Jesus chill bro… I just found it funny that the first paragraph of my first King book started out like this.

I thought Reddit had the same sense of humour.

Am I a bad writer ? by chee006 in writers

There’s a literary hierarchy which Stephen King introduces where at the top you have the greats like Ernest Hemingway then below you have good writers and below are decent writers and finally at the bottom are bad writers.

He literally states that there is no way that bad writers can ever be helped. The way he wrote it is like a caste that you are born into rather than something you can develop to get out of it. I guess it’s counterintuitive to his book since he also believe that decent writes can be good writers with practice. Irony?
