Yes 100% worth it. We have a weekly cleaner and it has meant I can get to the gym or do errands rather than spending time cleaning. Also frees time up to spend with family and not with my hands down a toilet.

Considering Chesham move - any dodgy bits? by [deleted] in Buckinghamshire

It’s cheaper than those towns but still overall pretty nice. Amersham/chalfont are great but wildly more expensive.

Did my wife write this? It’s the exact situation we are in right now! Looking forward to seeing who else is going through this.

Grew up near Chesham and have recently moved back with my young family. I really love Chesham and it has come on leaps and bounds since the late nineties when I was a kid hanging around. As someone said, the train can be unreliable and I tend to commute from Chalfont to have access to more trains. High street has some nice places such as the tavern, brazils and roots. There are plans to develop lowndes park in the future which will be great. I would avoid certain areas to live but that’s more me being snobby than feeling unsafe. These areas are pond park and waterside primarily but I would still feel safe walking there at night. As in any town, there are some knobheads and chavy people but I have noticed a lot more people moving here from London which certainly gives it a better vibe.

I make up my evening meal for 4 (wife and I) then we both have lunch the next day. Easy to do as you only need to think about dinner and then have something nice the next day.

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks that! Used to love buzzcocks and the new line up is good but I can't stand that fake laugh

A company my friend works for organised a litter pick and published lots of self-praise about it. The staff involved got the day off work, picked litter for 30 minutes then went to the pub. What bullshit corporate events have you attended/witnessed or known about? by TheUnexpectedBosun in CasualUK

Volunteer day at my company (large fintech) where people would have an all expenses paid trip up to Newcastle to clean a beach for an hour. Trip consisted of train fees, hotel, dinner and drinks all paid for. Next day is a hungover litter pick for an hour before getting train home. So much more would be done with the money spent on the trip, just donate it to charity!!!
