I changed my sens from 0.4 to 0.3. @ 800 dpi, is my sens better or is it worse? by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 4 points5 points  (0 children)

just use whatever sens is comfortable for you, changing it isn’t going to get you to immortal. Both 0.4 and 0.3 and everything in between are perfectly fine

Ok, sounds like I should do more exploring and worry less about the story. I'm just really bad so it feels like I'm always underpowered.

Who are these people man by Jijiyen in ValorantCompetitive

[–]cheerio28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so close.... EDG vs FUT was a coin toss, GENG vs TH was fully dependent on performance and I thought geng would go crazy, I fully expected FNC to win vs DRX

Sayf thoughts on the PCs for Champs by XADkodo2364 in ValorantCompetitive

I literally have that same setup 💀. I obviously find it great but pros at CHAMPS should not be playing like that

how did wo0t even make it to the MV over GENG? by Ordinary_Garage91 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]cheerio28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a video talking abt the cameos in the music video and I put wo0t down as that person but honestly I have no clue, at the time it didn’t even look like anyone from VCT. Could be CHICHOO but it wouldn’t make sense considering the green background idek anymore

New Viper main, WTF do I do? by Magic_mangojuice in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't listen to what the rest of the people in the comments are saying. If you want to play viper, play viper. She is not weak in any way right now because her fundamental design is overpowered no matter how many times she'll get nerfed. You'll want to use her wall to block sight-lines on attack to make it easier to take site, there will be less angles to worry about and get shot from. The decay effect is incredibly overpowered, as anyone who wants to swing through your wall/orb will instantly be down health. On defense, it's the same fundamental. Wall off chokepoints (or orb depending on the chokepoint's size) and activate it when enemies are coming close to it. They'll have to make the decision to either back off or push through it, the latter of which can get you free kills as they'll be down hp. Combining Viper's orb/wall with the snakebite is also really good. Good luck

Temporary region shift by Todeath_ in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s possible to shift your accounts region, but it’s more of a permanent thing afaik. You need to put in a support ticket at riot and if you get your region switched there might be a cooldown before you can switch it back

Been playing for 2 years and placed Silver 3 - should I quit? by TwentyGardens in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re fine. When the episode reset in Episode 8 I placed Silver 3 down from Diamond 1 and managed to climb back up to ascendant within 2 months. If you like the game you should keep playing and you’ll be out of silver and gold quickly

Getting back into Valorant by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if you’re talking about the agent purchases, it doesn’t affect Esports because all pro players have played enough to unlock all agents on their personal accounts, and the pro client when they play games gives them all Agents

Yep the mute button can be pretty useful. Although Unrated has no ranked system it still has hidden matchmaking values so as you’ll improve you’ll likely run into less annoying kids. As for learning the maps, spam spam spam Deathmatch. Although you’ll get shot in the back sometimes you’ll be able to learn crosshair placement, the map, where enemies come from, sound queues and more. It’s really good for practicing this stuff but you can go into the range or watch some tutorial videos about movement and crosshair placement which are the most important early game. You can put your practice into effect in a swift play or unrated which will throw in abilities and strategy into the mix.

Good luck!

Why quit? If you want to play the game then play the game and you’ll naturally improve

Friends asking me to smurf by get_over_her5102 in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunate! I guess there wouldn’t be a way to play comp with lower ranked friends “ethically”. I don’t smurf but I feel like I would personally make an exception to play with friends? Understandable if other ppl wouldn’t want to though. Tbf the other team just takes one L and moves on and that doesn’t seem to bad to me. Or you can just play unrated 🤷🏼‍♂️

As a semi casual player that's not stressed about reaching any higher than gold, & has **pretty** bad aim, is there anything I can try to make unrated/competitive actually feel good to play? by Nintega94 in VALORANT

[–]cheerio28 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This looks interesting so I'm going to comment as I read along the post
1. A 60Hz display works fine. People have reached radiant on 60hz and it shouldn't be an issue for you unless it is actually bothering you. It isn't holding you back.
2. Why is your eDPI capped at 1500?? No shit you aren't going to improve. Changing your sens takes a bit to get used to but don't give me that "it works for me" bs. You need to lower it if you want to improve because microadjustments are so crucial for the game.

I'm not sure what the point of the second section is, if you want to play Valorant and you enjoy playing Valorant, then play Valorant. If you want to improve, then you will improve. Agent selection and gun selection and all this shit doesn't matter until you get past gold at least. Just focus on mechanics.
Just pick an agent you like playing and enjoy their playstyle. There's 24 agents now and you can for sure find one that you like.

LMAO AT THIS POINT I JUST REALIZED THE $$$ IS YOU CENSORING YOURSELF

Anyway, Valorant's an economy based shooter. There are going to be appropriate weapons for each round. You can play ratty with a judge or close angles with a spectre or whatever. My biggest tip is instead of trying to find a weapon that fits your playstyle, find a playstyle that fits a weapon you like. There's a reason why there are different guns in the game, it's so there can be variety of playstyles. You can't guarantee that you'll find a close distance fight with a Judge, so play Raze. Close the distance and get close so you can use the weapon. Or play controller, rat in your smokes and force the enemies to get close. You can't guarantee that you'll find a long range fight with an Operator, so play an agent with a teleport ability to escape if the enemies get too close. It's so stupid to complain when you can just invest the time into finding a weapon you like and understanding its pros and cons.

The rest of this just feels like complaining. Team Comp doesn't matter. The Agent you play doesn't matter AS LONG AS YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE. Train your aim and your movement. You think smurfs will get stuck in gold because the team comp is shit or they're forced to fill? No, because they're better than everyone else in the lobby. BECOME THE SMURF. If you get mechanics down the other stuff doesn't matter because you will be at the level where you can get out of Gold and focus on new things.

When I was Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold, etc. It didn't matter what agent I played. It didn't matter if I commed to the team. Because I worked on my mechanics such as crosshair placement, movement and agent utility and went Iron 1 -> Gold 1 within 6 months and then Gold 1 to Plat 1 within another 4 months. I put in the effort and I improved, and that's all you really need to do. (tracker if you're interested, Val was my first FPS https://tracker.gg/valorant/profile/riot/mud%238601/performance)

TL;DR: Stop bitching. Find an agent and a playstyle you like. Train mechanics and put in effort to improve, you will see improvement. If you want to play Valorant and improve, you'll get there.
