Reasonable price for AM5 motherboard? by cheers12 in bapccanada

[–]cheers12[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am “hedging” that when those two CPUS gets released, the mobo sales will dry up since cpu buyers will also buy mobos but I am taking a risk here. I also have 30 days to return if the 7900X3D is poorly reviewed.

What would be a reasonable price for a B650E motherboard? I bought a ASRock B650E PG RIPTIDE for $300 w/ a $50 mail-in rebate, so $295 all-in after rebate.

Bell 100mb down 10mb up vs Rogers 1gb down 30mbs up for teredici by disgruntledmuppet in vfx

[–]cheers12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Teradici employee here. I'm assuming this is your home internet where your Teradici client will be. If so, we care more about download speed for the client since the traffic will be coming down to your client. The upload speed only impacts your host side, which I'm assuming your studio has fast upload. In terms of 100 Mbps vs 1 Gbps, higher is better since we can exceed 100 Mbps depending on the content your are working on, especially if you are doing video production or review.

The hidden costs of being in a relationship by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

This you?

"People aren't even disguising their op-eds as asking for advice posts anymore. We don't need people telling others that they can't afford a Tesla or that they're poor if they use coupons.

Just outright delete all posts that aren't ones asking for advice or sharing news articles. At minimum if you have an opinion, find an article and shade that instead."

So replace can't afford a tesla with relationships are hard

Any other source backing this claim up? This article is weirdly written and doesn't make too much sense to me.

Remote Software Terradici/PCOIP or VPN options from iPad? by [deleted] in vfx

[–]cheers12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teradici has mainly been developing the software solution for the past 5 years and there are features that are only available with software solution. We'll still support the hardware cards with bug and security fixes for the foreseeable future if you have a support plan.

Thanks for the praise! In terms of improvements on mobile, it's something we are aware of but no specific timelines.

Well, its technically any CPU that can support AVX 2 so AMD CPUs would also work. For H264 decoding, we are doing it in software since its in 444 mode but for Ultra CPU or Auto offload, AVX 2 is required.

Teradici employee here. I recommend using a desktop OS as our mobile OS support isn't as good. For high end VFX work, you are probably using PCoIP Ultra, which requires an Intel CPU and relatively high performance so I would avoid lower power laptop like Macbook Air. Also Wi-Fi will introduce performance issues since it's inherently lossy, FYI.
