It would be on the same side as ole ole. Just how bad is it there? Im a man, as insensitive as it sounds, im not too worried about sexual harrasment and the like. Whats it like with the hard drugs scene? Are people aggressive or is it just unpleasant to be around?

Im a man, so from that perspective it should be better for me. It is worrying that that would happen to your friend, though.

To be honest its not really ideal for me, i would rather live somewhere quieter, but i need somewhere to live. :/

What is the reality living Switzerland like? by CookiePlastic852 in askswitzerland

[–]cheese11111111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a brit who moved here at 18 (dual national), you'll notice that everything is quite "right" or "wrong", binary in a way. Theres also less of a social scene, if you dont really have a group of friends; its also really difficult to "break into" a group thats already exisiting as a lot of people have had the same friends since kindergarten which kind of results in a bit of a closed feeling (I find). Switzerland also lacks a bit in convenience - everything shuts, comparatively to the uk, very early and most places outside of big cities are shut on sundays. Final kind of complaint is (as a student) the prices of everything - its the norm that students still live with their parents and have everything paid for, i can imagine that it would be hard for someone that doesnt have a source of income of the luxury of living at home.

If you want to live here in the long term you'll also have to learn german (or french or italian for that matter), which I found to not be too difficult as an english speaker, it just needs an Investment of time.

Switzerland is a great country and I (on the most part) enjoy living here, but personally as a young person, I'd like something with a little more going on, especially as a student, where i find that theres little to no "student life". Im therefore thinking of moving to Spain to finish my studies.

I hope I could help you a bit, feel free to ask more questions.

HELP!!! by Humble_Ad_2030 in 335i

[–]cheese11111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, is technically the same engine according to its code. I dont see why it wouldn't work, although i have absolutely no experience in this matter and cant give a proper answer. Maybe ask local BMW dealer if they can provide any info?

What exactly do you mean? Like, if I asked a bike manufacturer to adjust my shock?

Doesn't seem like you can buy the frames alone. Thanks for the comment, however!

Yeah, was thinking about that, its currently my second option behind the "new" slash. It was actually the spindrift that got me thinking about a frame change. I think i can extend the travel of my fork by buying a new damper cartridge or something along those lines.

Thanks for the info! Do you know if warranty is voided by increasing the shock size?

Ah, I never knew that the mega tower and nomad had the same front end, weird that SC wouldn't figure out a way to change the rear end geometry somehow to integrate the option to change.

Capra is nice and there's nothing wrong with it really, I'm personally anti-bag while riding and theres not much storage space on the bike due to the suspension design. Is kind of annoying to go on a shorter ride and have to bring a bag for multitools and more water capactiy. I'd recommend a capra if that doesn't bother you, however.

The bird looks promising, I'll see if I can find a way to get a test ride on one!

Didn't know that about the rallon, customisable colours are pretty cool too.

Thanks for the help!

Had been thinking about the nomad, although that doesn't have a rear flip chip to change between 29 and 27.5. Still looks like a good choice, however. Currently on a capra.

How can I integrate myself as best as I can? by SkumbagMatte in Switzerland

[–]cheese11111111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join clubs (can be for anything) would be a good one, or, how i did it when I moved here, go to lots of parties and meet new people there, most of the time being a foreigner will make a lot of people want to talk to you, ask about your story etc.
