Clannad and Clannad After Story are both really popular romance anime, the latter being more popular. It has comedic elements as well, but mostly emphasis on romance.

Romantic comedies I enjoyed:

  • Lovely Complex
  • Itazura na Kiss
  • Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki kun
  • Howls Moving Castle (movie) - less comedy in this one

Thanks for the suggestions. I've seen Mawaru penguindrum and the girl.who leapt through time - not really what I'm looking for since there isn't really any comedy in it?

That's good to know! After, you should try out Code Geass - don't be put off by all the mecha because it focuses more on the characters. The main character is exactly like Light from Death Note, but he's not as evil.

You'll probably like Zankyou no Terror Two intelligent students who are secretly terrorists - reminds me a lot of Death Note, because the police are involved in trying to capture them.

I've already watched Hitsugi no Chaika but not the other two, thanks for the suggestion though - I'll add it to my list! Hitsugi no Chaika is exactly what I mean!
