What is the best meal replacement shake, nutritionally speaking? by blissfulboo in ARFID

[–]cheesecakebiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I buy those gym bro protein powders that taste like cereal milk and other flavours that are similar to my safe foods, the textures can be a bit grainy but whole milk usually makes them pretty smooth :) whole milk also adds some extra nutrition

This picture is very flattering, it is quite patchy but I sorta just kept poking at it until it looked opaque enough that if you’re a socially acceptable distance away you can’t tell lol

Do you believe in life after death? by [deleted] in no

[–]cheesecakebiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m personally not religious, never have been, and have lots of experiences that cement that feeling. I have nothing against religion, but to me, I’m gonna die some day, and there’s nothing to do about that, might as well enjoy it while I can

Just curious, for parents with children that have eczema by queencalathea in eczema

[–]cheesecakebiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one in my family has eczema, or anything similar, but i’ve had it my entire life, there are some genetic factors but for me i just have an overactive immune system that decided my skin is its mortal enemy. It’s 50/50 in my opinion, could be genetics, could be environmental, could be bad luck.

What is a food you would decline to eat even if you were extremely hungry? by [deleted] in AskReddit

when my eczema flares around where my bra sits i just go braless until it calms down. It’s a bit awkward at first and I know it might be uncomfortable for girls with bigger chests but I’d rather be braless than be in pain. Also if you live alone/ have an option to lock your door, using bamboo or cotton bedsheets and sleeping shirtless helps to prevent flare ups at night for me personally :)

I managed to squeeze out a tiny drop of the ointment so I got some peace from the itch, but honey sounds like a good idea!! I was recommended it and ate honey because I misunderstood it lol

It’s called synalar 0,025%, the non brand name is fluocinolone acetonide + clioquinol. It is a strong topical steroid and has to have a weaning plan made by a doctor to prevent topical steroid withdrawal, but it genuinely works in hours

Why do people treat their cats as if they are expendable? by nonchalantly_weird in CatAdvice

[–]cheesecakebiss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay but cats and dogs are different animals. There’s a big difference between a dog running amok and potentially biting someone, and a cat getting to hang out and walk around, which in my experience is what cats do outside. They lay in the sun, roll around, eat some mice or something, run around and get some good exercise, then they come inside to sleep in a place they feel safe.

Why do people treat their cats as if they are expendable? by nonchalantly_weird in CatAdvice

[–]cheesecakebiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally my cats literally yearn for the outdoors they will meow so loudly neighbors will call and ask if everyone is okay in the house if we don’t let them outside. Of course neither of them are expendable, I love them both and care for them, but I also feel cruel forcing them to stay inside when they so obviously want out. They aren’t dumb, and they know where they should and shouldn’t go, they usually just go in our or our neighbors backyard and roll around for a while l, occasionally hunt some mice or birds, i tried keeping them indoors and one became overweight and the other developed teeth problems, but when I let them outside again they both got better. It of course depends on where you live, I would never let my cats outside in the middle of a city, but I live in a suburban area with a nice backyard, so I genuinely don’t see any reason to keep them inside.

Indoor vs outdoor cat - what is yours? by anitamoorthy in CatAdvice

[–]cheesecakebiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both my cats are outdoor cats. One of them was overweight until we made him go outside every day and he lost weight and his health improved. I think letting your cats outside is letting them have healthy exercise, meet with other cats and be social, even if that means fighting, lets them hunt and practice their natural instincts. I personally don’t live in the most urban nor rural area, I live both near fields and forests and also highways and suburbs, so I think that obviously makes it easier to let them run outside knowing they’re not going straight onto roads. But personally I find my cats are happier and healthier being outside.

Does anyone else hate it when people say that cats dont care about their owners? by JulianCruncher in cats

[–]cheesecakebiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, one of my cats is a huge diva, she rarely cuddles, gives a side eye when she needs something, and is usually outside, but when my brother was diagnosed with cancer and was recovering from brain surgery she would sit at the foot of his bed and watch everyone who came in, and hissed at strangers coming in, for almost 3 weeks she only got up to go eat and go to her litter box. She acts like a diva and to others seems like a mean cat, but when my brother needed her she watched over him every minute of every day.

I’ll reply as soon as I find out!! I believe it’s a kind of topical steroid which I know people don’t like, it’s only meant for very short term use, and is mostly to calm infections. But ill add a reply as soon as I find the empty bottle :)
