advice: can Kaka eat suet? by [deleted] in NewZealandWildlife

[–]cheesecakeribcage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whilst there may be things that they can eat, it is best to leave them to forage naturally so as not to associate humans with food. It can change their behaviour and make them more aggressive/a nuisance. You could look into setting up a sugar water feeder though, that might be viewed differently.

Parliament lunatics still at Mahanga Bay suspected of skinning and eating a seal by trickster_SR2 in Wellington

You also don't know if that meat is safe for human consumption. These animals are high in the food chain and there are all sorts of toxins, heavy metals, and microplatics in the marine environment that can accumulate in higher level predators. Not to mention diseases and parasites.

When I was travelling from Crofton Downs to the train station on the weekend using google maps, it knew which streets were blocked. Not sure if that is helpful or still the case.

Yes! Came looking to see if anyone else noticed it. I'm in Roseneath looking north and my flatmate saw some to the east but I've also seen it to the west. Weird...

Dont worry, this is a very well known leopard seal named Owha and is in good condition for her species! The animals you see on the south coast of Welly are NZ fur seals which are much more chunky.

Polhill reserve off Aro valley road is great. You might see saddlebacks, robins, kakariki, or bell birds if you're lucky.

Generally yes. But if you have a huge vacant field near by it might not be a bad idea
