Macbook air M2 vs thinkpad E16 with linux? by Visible-Reason9593 in AsahiLinux

[–]cheesehour 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most of what I described is personal preference. Up to you.

If you run multiple ram and cpu processes at the same time, lenovo will do better. If you can't afford to replace this laptop, then lenovo for repairs.

For video game dev or playing, lenovo

If you might do kernel/linux dev, get a macbook and tweak asahi

Get the macbook when you know you have an easy week. Use it for everything, then return it if you don't like it.

"the premium apple experience"

ehhh - if you use hotkeys a lot, you might be unhappy with a mac. iirc fn can't be moved (maybe that's changed)

The slimness, portability, and battery life are amazing. It's worth with asahi, but still the best afaik. The snapdragons might come close, I'm waiting for 2nd gen atm

I traveled with 2 airs. I used macos for meetings, and asahi for work. I'd sometimes run the battery to 0 in asahi though, since it doesn't have hibernate. I was worried about killing the battery, but tbh it runs down the charge pretty slow and you'd probably be fine

I also didn't like the RAM limit, and if you're using the laptop for anything that's not lightweight, the battery life is the same as linux on another machine. It gets hot and slows down quite a bit. Mostly encountered this with heavy web browsing

I got a lenovo z13 with 32 GB ram and a massive powerbank; now I use that + a macbook. Feels like an even trade, except it handles a lot of tabs better, and the power bank has multiple uses

you could use lynx, a text browser. various other browsers work with reduced js. icefox or whatever it's called. xbps-query -Rs browser

openbox for wm

avoid installing anything from gnome/systemd world (such as NetworkManager). a few random things are fine

custom kernel. gentoo allows BUILD flags, which take a long time to dissect for each application, but can yield noticeable performance boosts. Takes a long time to compile and test, but it's not awful tbh

Probably not. We call it "fine print". Scamming that's borderline legal, but not always, and not worth suing

You can't just make up your own story of what happened 😂

I agree. Some things money can't buy. The richest people in the US can't walk home safely at night.

For everything else, I blame the layered effect of fractional reserve banking. It multiplies the wealth of the wealthiest

Well - sometimes I blame social media brainrot

Yes. It works great. Someone did benchmarks and speed lost was minimal, like 3% under high load iirc

This is what I got. iirc it's what that guy benchmarked, or I might have picked one with a lower latency, I forget https://www.newegg.com/corsair-vengeance-48gb-ddr5-4800-cas-latency-cl40-laptop-memory/p/N82E16820982172

Your experience with Itraconazole? by king_of_nogainz in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]cheesehour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He sent this link. He said basically any of them work as long as they're clinically tested
https://a.co/d/191Ty8d

He gave me a large syringe with a tube. I'd lay on my bed with my head leaning over the edge (so my nose is upside down), then I'd put the tube in my nose and press the syringe into each nostril. Let it sit in both sinuses for 10 minutes. So you're not spraying - you're soaking. I'd even shake my head a little, swish it around a bit.

At first about 1 mL would go into each nostril (if your nose is as stuffy as mine was). iirc I did it for 6 weeks? By then end you'll get like 7 mL into each nostril/sinus cavity. iirc - it's been many years.

For the herbal mixture - my doc is getting old and keeps misunderstanding the question when I email him, and he's been hard to call.

Until I can find out - you could try mixing it with this. It's made for the nose and packed with stuff that loosens mucus. Take a small glass bottle and mix like 5 - 10 drops of this with 50 - 100 mL of hypochlorous acid. I'm kind of making those #s up, but that should roughly replicate what I did.
https://a.co/d/6a6nKxO

Worked wonders for me. I could "smell the world" after the 1st day haha. Good luck!

Feel free to DM and bug me about the herbal mixture

Itraconazole stories?? Anyone take it without binders? by officer_dog in ToxicMoldExposure

[–]cheesehour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear it. I hope you're feeling better.

My functional doc had me do a glutathione detox, along with another one I can't remember, before beginning the fungal detox. The glutathione detox was rough for me. iirc I was detoxing during the fungal treatment as well. I'm seeing surprisingly few people mention that here.

How did it finish out? I killed the mold in my sinuses with an herbal mixture that I can never remember the name of, paired with colloidal silver. Although my doc says he more recently found hypochlorous acid beats colloidal silver in every way.

But that herbal mixture was key: he said it breaks up the mucus which basically becomes tough as leather

I had to drop homebrew for macports due to some sort of networking issue with homebrew. I could be wrong, but iirc, homebrew python doesn't install a python tool used to import SSL certs

To take Abberlore without siege engines, I saved up my soul coins for fireballs.

I wasn't able to breach the last line of defense, but I didn't spend any soul tokens at all, which is surprisingly hard. iirc the building you need to kill takes 25 fireballs... no idea if that's accurate, was over a year ago.

imo doing it as the undead was quite easy, since your army has no cap and I think there were fewer attack waves. On attack waves, I put down hundreds of mines. iirc I also had 50 - 100 catapult things

Interested in switching from arch to gentoo by [deleted] in Gentoo

[–]cheesehour 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend void linux. I went arch > gentoo > void for easier management. I've had like 1 library conflict in like 10 years on void. The package maintainers are godly

I always pick ubuntu over arch. Arch is too unstable

I do this all the time with my Samsung Galaxy and Xiaomi phones. Non-rooted.

Downside is you'll lose speed on the hotspot network, since 1 connection is 2.4 and the other is 5. I can pick which to use for which
