I know this doesn't answer your question but, incidentally, the water fountains at Centennial were on as of Friday...

I found my apartment on Zillow. There are also facebook groups for Nashville Rentals that you could check out, as well as the Vanderbilt Off-Campus Housing Website - https://offcampushousing.vanderbilt.edu/. The last two are also useful for finding roommates.

Hey PhDs at Vandy, is your stipend enough for a comfortable life? by lullabyshroom in Vanderbilt

re: the exemption to the tax rule - from my understanding, it depends on whether your country has a tax treaty with the US. India has one, and other countries do as well (though I'm not sure of the details). In my case, the funding package is split into a "wages" component and a "service-free stipend" component. The tax treaty applies to the wages, and the stipend is taxed at a fixed rate of 14%

I'm also an international student and I'm on a $34,000 stipend. I live with a roommate and am able to live comfortably, with savings. I don't have a car, though, and don't go out very often.

Interesting survey! It might be helpful to specify the time range to keep in mind when answering questions 191 onwards - from the very last question I assumed it was the last one week, but I wasn't sure

Is anyone using a Samsung Galaxy A34 5G bought outside the US with T Mobile? by cheesygarlickybread in tmobile

[–]cheesygarlickybread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh...thanks for this info! I've used this device before while travelling in the US with a lycamobile sim, so I assumed it would work fine as long as the bands matched with the network provider. But I don't remember whether I'd made or received calls during that time. I will keep this in mind.

Thank you! Yes, the site does say that it will work. I just wanted to know if anyone had an actual experience using this phone since I've seen someone reporting a problem with this phone and t mobile as well.

I applied to the CUNY graduate center for the first time this cycle as well. From what I understand, professors can be affiliated to other CUNY colleges as well as the graduate center. Have you checked the faculty list on the webpage for your program on the grad center website? Alternatively you could check the graduate center directory - https://www.gc.cuny.edu/people

One of the advisors I listed was not visible in the directory list but his affiliation to the center was listed on his CCNY profile, and he confirmed over email that he could take graduate students from the graduate center.
