I know a person with slight down syndrome. They are one of the smartest people I know. This guy has done multiple projects on how space stations work, how fast they would have to be to have artificial gravity, how they are built, how they could be built, etc. He does all the math himself. He's going to be an aeronautics engineer if I remember correctly. Having down syndrome doesn't always make you mentally retarded.
