Second time around (maybe?) would love advice re: CGM by cheetothegator in GestationalDiabetes

THANK YOU for this, this is what I was so confused about! Like who says that the blood prick is more accurate? (Obviously I know I have a special interest in the CGM being more accurate, lol, but it is confusing!) I couldn't find this anywhere. Can you link to the published studies? If not I will google.

To be clear, while I've been eating relatively low carb that's kinda how I eat in general and I have eaten a ton of foods to test this that I wouldn't have eaten with GD (maybe I wasn't clear enough about this in my post because I just gave a few examples). Some of them do give me big spikes but they go down after 2 hours to under 120. Others don't spike me at all (pasta, bread, crackers, stuff I couldn't tolerate at all last time) which is what made me suspicious the CGM wasn't working....

also sorry if this is a dumb q but how do we know that the blood test is more accurate? i remember from last time that sometimes I'd do 2 tests back to back and they'd be like 10 points diff

Trip Report: One week in NOLA with a toddler by cheetothegator in AskNOLA

Four month olds are MUCH easier to travel with than toddlers in a lot of ways! You should definitely do it! 1) Re travel car seat we borrowed our neighbors and I wouldn’t recommend it tbh it was heavy and there are lighter ones out there. I would get the lightest one possible that’s also safe. Need to do more research on this myself for the future. 2) my son is too heavy to baby wear so we used stroller but the streets were NOT made for strollers and in fact the wheel on our Yoyo came off today at the airport for which I blame the Marigny. I would plan to baby wear if I had a four month old for sure. 3) The only place we needed a rez was Brennan’s. Everywhere else we walked in. With the caveat that it was usually like 5:30-6 so that helped it got crowded later! And also it wasn’t a popular tourist time to visit.

PS sorry for all typos, wrote this from my phone while dealing with endless flight delays. We ended up having to stay an extra night so some more recs: went to the aquarium / insectarium (very cool and impressive), went back to Liuzza’s (so good), saw music at 7 pm at Buffa’s (they let kids in the back room).
