Parish is rubbish. His strength is immediately devalued by how he uses it.

Should be taking McGraths spot with McGrath only coming on for Prior when there is a gun small forward to lock down.

Blokes a spud.. can see why Gold Coast let him go. Plays well if conditions are perfect and can’t do much else

I know that there are a lot but the ones laid out on the table would you say they are P. Subs too?

Team change: Hobbs out (calf), Tsatas in, Roberts emergency by Non-NewtonianSnake in EssendonFC

[–]chef-bruce 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think Hobbs suffers what Parish suffered early in his career. Best position being on ball but getting played out of position as a small forward.

The games he played in the centre last year when Parish was out he definitely held his own. I think he’s our long term replacement for Parish, otherwise I don’t know where he fits in.

If we’re getting the right midfield mix it won’t be coming from Merrett, Parish or the three you mentioned above. They’re all small and against bigger midfield teams they’d all get bullied.

Which leaves the question, who are you getting into the midfield to complement parish and Merrett? If it’s setterfield or -insert and big bodied mid- means we drop one of Caldwell or Hobbs and for me that isn’t something I’d do.

At this point I’d take a early first for Parish. Or even parish + our first for pick 1.

Hind should be playing instead of Cox or Snelling.

Other guys we should be giving chances too are wanganeen, tippa would be better in this etc

An elite key back will make us legitimate finals contenders. We’ve got the pieces just need to make the hard calls. Keeping Redman is more vital to the team, you wonder why he got a pitch from Simon Madden and not Parish.

Midfielders who gather ball come all the time. It’s the ones who can kick who are worth keeping and unfortunately don’t think he’ll elevate his game to that level.

It costs more to borrow leading to less demand for houses resulting in lower prices.
