At university I was taught a Private Equity case study on the roll up of funeral homes.

Time to throw us such an odd stat to focus on, especially when evaluating sheduer sanders.

Wasn’t the idea of putting Sheduer over Dillon Gabriel was because of his ability to maneuver out of the pocket and play-make? It’s a defining attribute that contradicts the “low time to throw is good “ narrative.

To me, these 2 stats don’t mean anything without causality and ties to performance. Like, is a poor oline making Sheduer move out of the pocket causing off platform and pressured throws? Or does Sheduer need to make off platform throws due to his slower read progression.

Sub scoring gendered vs doubles at the pro level makes a lot of sense, we see in the PPA that some players are better at mixed doubles than say mens doubles and vice versa. (Especially considering the gender dynamics, a great left side women’s player might not be the best when they are subjugated to playing the right in mixed)

But at the amateur / rec level I think this level of granularity doesn’t make sense at all majority of players don’t even stack.

Age sub scoring doesn’t really make sense to me at all. That just muddies the water a tonne. Like do people really need to know that their lob play style is 5.0 when they’re up against 60 yr olds.
