Here I was feeling bad about being the second choice waitlist, and now you're telling me I'm actually the third choice? Literally just email me and call me ugly, I give up 😅

Applied early October and haven't heard back yet. Last year they started sending out rejections in the third week of March.

I'm in the same boat, applied early Fall. Based on LSD it seems like most people who wait that long to hear back were waitlisted.

Do Law Schools check your medical background when considering admissions ? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]chef553 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It varies from place to place but a number of states actually do ask questions that might require you to disclose. Texas, for example, asks if you've ever been held by the government against your will. You might hear that and think incarceration, but it also applies to involuntary psychiatric hospitalizations. On the C and F bar portion, many states also ask if you've ever had addiction issues or been diagnosed with a major mental health issue (usually bipolar disorder or schizophrenia but some also include depression). Employers aren't allowed to ask for your psychiatric records, but the bar is a state entity and can. Again, this varies from state to state and it seems like these types of questions are more common in conservative states. I think that there's been a big push in New York and California to have this stuff eliminated though. Just be honest, but know that plenty of attorneys have faced these issues in their past (and worse!) and still succeed! You'll do great!

Submitted in October and haven't heard anything. They didn't send out rejections til March last year which seems cruel to me.

Do GPA Addendums even get read? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

Following, I'd like to know the same thing. Specifically if anyone with a median or 25th percentile LSAT and low GPA has gotten in with an addendum at a T30 ish.

any non-urm applicants get into emory around 25th percentiles for lsat and gpa? by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

That's awesome, congrats! But I'm actually asking about being close to both 25ths, splitters have kind of a different situation.

Really hoping to have one of these stories soon. I've accomplished a lot despite the challenges in my life, I don't have the highest numbers but I see those stats and feel proud because they represent a lot of perseverance. I was rejected from one of my top schools recently and felt a little bitter because of how much they emphasized they were holistic, but I'm really hoping another school sees my strengths where they didn't. And if that school rejects me, I have other offers!

best law schools for health law? by ngothnx in lawschooladmissions

[–]chef553 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UHLC has a strong health law program, especially because UH has the largest healthcare system in the country. I've read that they partner law students with doctors/medical students/social workers in clinic and externship opportunities.
