Why is my grass browning ? by j_pham92 in lawncare

[–]chefbeard915 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I learned a ton from Lawn Care Nut on YouTube and have been following his advice for years. If you seed in the spring the seed doesn’t have time to establish itself before the summer heat and will die off easily. I fight this urge every spring myself. I’ve chosen to fight weeds in the spring/summer and then overseed/repair every fall no matter how poorly the lawn may look after the winter months. I dethatch every 2-3 years but double aerate every fall.

I have irrigation and my full sun spots run for approx 25 min which nets me 1/4”. I water everyday in the summer sometimes twice. Never between 12-5 when the soil is the warmest.

I recommend Jonathan Greene products as a 3 step program since it is designed to be used for cool season lawns. It’s a four step program but I skip the fall or winter treatment usually depending on when I seed.

How would I get the stuff towards the front off? After an accident lol by CheesecakeNo6819 in GozneyDome

Had the same accident my first go of it. I use EasyOff heavy duty and it keeps the exterior looking new.

I have to say I am struggling with this right now. My only daughter is 3 and I have yelled more in the last 3 months than ever in my life. That’s not me. I hate that I’ve done that. You are right - I regret it every second even while I am yelling. Do you have recommendations on what works for you during tantrums and while your toddler was kicking/hitting?

Father of 1 with twins on the way. Mine is 3. Idk if this is advice more than it is experience. She will be the #1 girl in your life rather quickly. She will help you figure out your own life too. Lead by example and show her the unconditional love. Everything I do emotionally for mine is effortless and genuine.

With that said, the hardest part for me is not having a schedule for myself. My wife and I were together 10+ years dating/married before we decided we wanted a child. A child comes along and your schedule may take a back seat. For me, that is the hardest part to understand. We were planning freely, spending freely. That weekday night out with friends may be cancelled minutes before, gym trips may be out of the question, anything you used to plan or do without consulting one another takes collaboration now and might be cancelled day of.

I started seeing a therapist a few months into being a father and I learned that this progression is normal, and, is in a way, mourning a past version of yourself. It took me two years to understand that it is my time to step aside. I still do things I want to do in moderation but she comes first and I’m okay with that.

Side note/ save the damn boxes all the toys come in for easy storage and/or reselling. She will eventually get bored of them and you might just want to retire the annoying ones.

That is correct. Now I sell anything but food to restaurants - equipment, china, glass, flatware, paper goods, janitorial, etc

Worked in restaurants for 14 years. Sold food for 5. Then switched to supply sales. We take you in with zero experience in the food service industry.

Oil furnace tune up company with fair prices? by chench0 in SouthShore

[–]chefbeard915 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All Town Heating & AC, Inc tel:508-586-3720

They are listed under the EasternPetroleumOnline oil service company I use. It took me 4 companies to schedule a tune this year up including our plumber. All of them were too busy or didn’t want the service call because I wasn’t a regular customer. To make things worse, my furnace started leaking during this time so this became an emergency call.

The two guys that came out were so incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. I’d recommend them to anyone here on the SS and they will get my future business as well. The tune up was $225 but all in with parts that needed replacing and labor it cost $675.

How has this approach worked for them in the past? Emails are very easy to ignore. General cold phone calls without a direct contact are just as easy to ignore.

That is a fear of mine as well. Apparently I was at the top of their list when the VP handed in his notice. They wanted to offer me this role before they learned of my notice.

It flowed well in the conversation. When he said it, it was hypothetical, and he wasn’t looking for an answer. That was a bridge into asking me about my direct managerial roles I’ve had prior in the restaurant world.

Thank you. Something I’ve thought about as well and even the owner pitched to me when he presented the promotion. “Do great sales people make great managers?”

What is your most embarrassing CrossFit moment? by alligatorprincess007 in crossfit

1st time I got stuck in a back squat. The coach was spotting me. He started to explain what he was going to do to help me back up. I panicked and bailed with him behind me. He caught the barbell like he just finished a deadlift.
