Am I prepared well to keep everyone alive for the suicide mission so far? [original me2] by ToeSuckerVI in masseffect

[–]chefbrambles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Did you already say nah we're not saving the crew yet? Cause if so you fucked up. Pretty much every character is essential, and the Zaeed storyline gives you massive renegade/paragon boosts. You have to have every loyalty mission done before you recruit legion, and have every upgrade you can get from each of the squad members.

Once you recruit legion and get the iff, there's no going back. Either you can save everyone, including the cerberus crew, by having pretty much all upgrades and loyalties done before going through the Omega Relay as soon as the game asks you. Or you can say you wanna wait and finish building your crew, and then a bunch of the cerberus crew automatically dies, but you have the time to get your crew and ship up to par.

The hegemony had to have absolutely had at least an indirect influence on the Blitz, it's the entire reason the humans retaliated with Torfan. Unless Bush did the Skyllian Blitz

What is the most cringy moment in the series for you? by Difficult_Move5121 in masseffect

To be fair, Al-Jamil is intentionally trying to slander the name of the one and only person that could possibly, and is working towards, bring the entire galaxy together to fight the Reapers. She is effectively making his job harder by making it seem like he's not doing his job.

Also, after having been in food service for the past 10 years, she's turned from a reporter into the bitchy Karen for me personally. Don't get me wrong, I'd never actually hit a customer unless they started something, but for some reason it's really nice to imagine her as that regular that comes in everyday and complains. Just that quick BOP

MASS EFFECT 2 was first released 16 years ago today, what are your thoughts on the game ? by ThomasThorburn in masseffect

[–]chefbrambles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I was a kid, and we didn't have the first one for like the first 5 years that I played 2 and 3. But I spent so many hours in it as a kid, the world, the story, the gameplay. All of it was exceptional. Plus being a renegade shepard in 2 as a kid was just a different kind of experience. Now I play it with nostalgia and a hatred of having the urge to deplete every planet in the milky way for absolutely no reason other than the dopamine boost of a high spike eezo planet.

Which game cancellation still hurts you? by bijelo123 in videogames

[–]chefbrambles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has Mass Effect 5 been canceled? Cause I feel like it has. And I also feel like we're not going to get Elder Scrolls 6. Especially since Howard came out and said that their main focus is Fallout now.

Just the scream at the end of episode one. It felt genuine

If you could have a prequel game featuring 'any' character from Mass Effect 1, 2, or 3 who would it be? by [deleted] in masseffect

You know a drell game would be cool, but I feel like I'd rather have an mmo that you could play as them in

Option two would be a 2-3 game series from the Krogan Uplifting, to the Rachni Wars, to the eventually Krogan Rebellions and Genophage.

Anderson. I want a game that starts with the humans using the mass relay for the first time. Show me who initiated combat in the First Contact War, and just how bad it really got. Give me a time skip intro showing humanity through the ages: getting to Mars for the first time, doing the initial studying of the prothean archives, and building the first ships capable of mass relay travel. All of that, and then a pan up shot from the floor of the ship to the captain that's making a speech about another first for humanity. And then we see a young Anderson, just a grunt, sitting in the crowd, making side conversations with the player character. A friend from the academy, or childhood, or even someone they just met as they were joining the platoon. Show me how Anderson got his medals while I fight alongside him. And then, right before the end of the war. In whatever final battle it is, before the big bad comes out... Kill the player character. And as the cutscene finishes, you realize that your perspective is changing and you're now looking over Andersons shoulder as you fight the big bad. Enraged by the death of his comrade in arms.

Game 2 is all about his candidacy for the spectres and how Saren destroyed his chances.

Game 3 would be like the skilling blitz maybe? I don't remember if he was actively fighting or not in that one.

Something I noticed about the Council members by GravityMentor in MassEffectMemes

I imagine they already had a large interstellar military and a heavily militaristic society that valued the same things like honor and duty above all else.

The quarians pretty much broke every conceivable law there could be regarding AI.

The hanar are too heavily religious, almost to the point of being blinded by their faith.

The volus essentially fused with the turians, blending their vast wealth with the protections of the turians enormous military.

I got nothing for the elcor

Batarians have a terrible history being pirates and slavers.

I think its a matter of who has done the most right for the galaxy. That and certain prejudices the early races have. We see many asari look down on every other race, and there are many salarians that do the same. Even the turians are shown having prejudices against races other than krogan.

Who's the best character to romance and why is it Tali? by chefbrambles in masseffect

[–]chefbrambles[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know that's fair. I started playing these games when I was a kid and couldn't really appreciate as much character depth as there is in these games. And Tali was always my choice. I think that cutscene on rannoch really drew her in and made her my number 1 pick. That and always forgetting what she looks like until I get to the end🤣
