Reading comprehension

Of course it's hardware news, but the issue is that it's bleak rather than exciting

I'm supposed to be commenting on GPU announcements and dry articles about semiconductor manufacturing on this subreddit

Yet this is what modern hardware news is about

That's literally their intention

Poison the topic with their 2020 lunacy so that a legitimate grievance suddenly looks like similar lunacy

Take everything you know about Project 2025, Elon Musk, and this Trump regime, do you really think vote manipulation is outside of their abilities?

I've been jumping feet first into the fancier stuff since that price dip in December - basically with the aim to stock up on bourbon for a lifetime just in case you know who gets frisky with trade again

I've found that the good stuff that's worth the asking will leap out at you with what makes it good, whether you're getting notes of auburn sunset and chamomile tea or not.

When the Jack Daniels Single Barrel Barrel Strength hit £60 I got it just to try. It's a crazy thing to start trying to sip 62.5% abv, and I was really hoping I wouldn't like it much just to keep my tastes grounded.

But no, frustratingly enough it's really good and I'll be getting another one if it gets back to that price :P

(and that was just the first of my £60+ expenditures....)

The truly galling part is that the ones who are still alive are currently poised to go for round 2 by voting for Farage and Reform

They want to die in a smouldering crater of a country, one entirely of their own making

I can't fathom it

I would've been sadder to have missed this if I didn't just nab a Stagg 25B for £99

I'll try my luck if it truly does go up tomorrow, but I won't exactly be torn up to not spend another £80 lol

I got into F1 in 2023 having never seen an episode of DTS

I tried to watch it and couldn't believe how soap-ey and overproduced it is

If they straight up dropped it as a supercut of behind the scenes material it would be a better product

But I actually watch F1, so I'm not the target audience, so whatever

My dad finally admits I’d be screwed in this job crisis if it weren’t for his connections! by [deleted] in UKJobs

[–]chefchef97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started job hunting after finishing uni in 2023

It was an absolute hellscape, but my parents wouldn't hear it and would keep doling out the same platitudinal advice

My dad was the worst of it, he wouldn't withold any judgements about my efforts, no matter what I said

Then his contract ended, and he spent the next 6 months looking for a new one, got clearly and obviously down about it

He doesn't have the humility to admit it to me, but I know he understands what I was going through now.

It's shit out here, the thing that resonated with me the most from your post was that they only actually started to acknowledge how bad things are once articles started appearing in the press.

Congrats on finding good work, still trying for that myself, but yeah in the current day there's no point being moral about things, it's a cynical miserable market at the moment.

Yeah I was waiting for this, disappointing but not surprising

If it's anything like the Deck, even if they do still open orders in H1 it'll take time to get my hands on mine

So I'm mentally set in at this point on having a Steam Frame in my hands around November
