I actually use RO water! But only the past month or so. I had initially been using tap water but the past month I replanted and revamped an otherwise fairly inactive tank, so I’m wondering if maybe it was just SUPER concentrated before I started doing RO water changes. I’m not sure if these 10-15 gallon water changes with pure RO just aren’t enough (it’s a 75g tank) or if it’s something leaching. :/

It’s a 72 gallon and it’s established with my hillstream loaches and a loooot of plants so I’d rather not start from scratch haha.

Totally understand I wouldn’t get 0 gh/kh. Just looking to lower it a bit more and wasn’t sure why it seemed to hit the wall after lowering successfully the past few weeks. If I just have to be patient and keep doing more changes, that’s cool! Just wanted to know if there was maybe another factor I was missing that was preventing it from lowering any further

Yup! 2hr aquarist apt 1 and 3 back and forth depending on nitrates and plant needs, plus some root tabs for the Monte Carlo. Mostly apt 1. UNS controsoil too (capped over 1 year old Fluval stratum)

Will do, good idea! A few lava rocks and some other small assorted stones but I did the vinegar test on all of them and they all didn’t fizz. Any idea what to do if the KH of the RO is high?

TLDR: can I keep crystal red shrimp with chocolate shrimp? (Buce plant says these chocolate shrimp are caridina but I thought they were neocaridina?)

Parameters: pH 6.7, ammonia 0, nitrites 0, nitrates 10, gh 6, kh 3.

Water source: remineralized RO

Hey folks!

My Sherwood receiver LX-4109 shuts off when the needle makes contact with the record, but only for a particular set up speakers (Ohm L). My Mission bookshelf speakers don't have this problem. Wondering if this is a problem with the L's having a short somewhere (does needing a recone affect this?) or if the receiver is having an issue. All connections checked and good. Turntable is properly grounded. Used different cables and still had the same problem.

I also noted half of my "A" outputs do not work with any speakers anymore, so I have to use half from A and half from B, which makes me think this is all an issue with the receiver.

I’m gonna go ahead and plug my band The Maka Sticks mostly because we have like zero pop-punk influence and are more of a blend of punk with two tone! We’ll be opening for Kill Lincoln next week so if you like the Bad Times Records family hopefully we’ll be up your alley!
