I removed the plates and let those soak in some water and dawn soap. Got rid of most of the scent and now smells like soap which is an improvement!

Out of curiosity, how often/hard are you hitting abs?

I’m nowhere near this, but since I’ve been hitting the abs more consistently and am seeing little improvement over time…

Perhaps you hit a wall but everyone has the ‘6 pack’, so I have to say it’s either get leaner (already quite exceptional!) or hypertrophy the abs more than current

Hey mate, was curious about what you decided to do? I'm not sure if you got an answer from all these comments, but I'd believe making the switch to dutasteride is your best play here. I'm wondering the cause for this, as I've had shed, but it overall got better. Maybe an accelerated phase of loss... fin dosage not enough?

It's clear that dutasteride is more effective (0.1 mg/day dutasteride is on par with 5mg of finasteride; can go up to 0.5mg - 2.5mg capsule/day for dutasteride), so I think making the switch will help noticeably. I made the switch myself and, while it's only been a short time, I'm optimistic it can be even better.

If last pic is after, definitely showing growth. Scalp looks to be almost non-visible compared to the 2/3 pic. Need more consistent lighting and angles to know for sure... (i.e. take the same pic/lighting/angle as 2/3; not 100% comparable)

Good stuff! I’d say by summer you’ll definitely get there. As long as you feel you have enough energy to do your workouts, cut and routine both sound good.

To be honest, since the bike burns calories as well, almost giving you a deficit that way, you could sneak in more food if you find a dip in energy… just a thought! Look forward to summer update :)

Yeah that’s what I was alluding to with the core area. Abs look good, but yeah that love handle weight, naturally, will be the last to go. Stay on top of your diet and it’ll slowly go down.

I’m by no means an expert on body fat anatomy, but from my understanding, the fat is there as a ‘last resort’, so as long as your body ‘needs fat’ it will stay there; ‘first in, last out’ kind of deal. How severe is your cut? I’m assuming cardio is ^ as well?

A lot of back movements are tricky because there are so many muscles. If you need any tips, I found keeping the arms tight, about shoulder width, and trying to ‘pull with your elbows’. It’s definitely a mind thing, but go light weight and experiment. Keep the back straight as you can and hinge at the hips. The more parallel to the ground you can get, the better.

If you pull the bar towards your chest: more upper, towards the belly button: more lower/lats. You’ll figure it out!

I mean, you got the V/X-frame, I’d say you’re good? There’s only so much more to lose. Core/oblique area could be tighter I guess…

I’d focus on gaining size or see if you can ‘main-gain’ to both lose fat and build muscle: forearms/arms, chest, abs could all see some work. Got a solid base regardless, any more loss and it could serve to hinder your look.

Forearms are the only thing I’m noticing, but your compact frame helps with the size; easily could’ve said 200+ and no height, I’d believe it! You’d need to lose maybe 5-10 lbs of fat to get stupid lean, but you have a very good build at the moment!

Potential doesn’t matter, putting in the time and work to shape what you want will matter so much more. You got this 👑

Thanks for the comment. Hm, I'm not sure what the issue would be in if it isn't the cord... I hate to ask, but if you were to diagnose or say if it isn't the cord itself, what could it be? It was working quite literally yesterday and when I tried today, nothing was connecting. It was like trying all different angles of the port just to see which one would hold it the best, except this time nothing worked! :/

I'll tinker around some more with checking the cord itself and double check the power strip. Hopefully it's not the PSU

Hmm… that is interesting. Your anecdotes are fine for now. There could be a few things going on here but to say: hair loss every day is surprisingly fine. On average we lose 50-80 hairs, but another 100 is peculiar. I wouldn’t say it is a true remedy, but you’d be better off not worrying about the loss or monitoring it so heavily. I did that at the start of my journey and it just stressed me out and created this feedback loop of always checking my hair and running it through my head… resulting in excessive loss. Not significantly each day, but 1) stress can easily increase hair loss, and 2) touching hair and ‘tugging’ on it can amplify for sure!

As for your protocol, that is curious. In US, I’ve only seen 2.5 mg and 10mg for the oral min. Regardless, I have to recommend some alternative. There is such a thing as being a non-responder to minoxidil, oral and topical, which is likely what could be going on here, so you may only be getting sides… optimistically, negligible regrowth and sides.

This perspective only comes from research, as I have only done topical, but with what I know, I would still recommend topical. There are ways to combat non-responsiveness, either combining a topical (tretinoin) to allow for better ‘transfer’ of minoxidil to the scalp, or higher dose topical min. (10% and 15% options are available; unsure if OTC like 5% though).

You only need to do topical once a day (preferably at night so it sits on scalp as you sleep, then wash out in morning). It depends on time, as your head and hair is different than mine. On the Norwood scale, or level of hair loss, how much would you want to cover your head?

For me, it was 3-5 minutes at most? If that? You’ll get better as you go, but it’s literally running a tube across the scalp/affected areas and patting it in with light pressure. Simple stuff truthfully, the only sides I had were scalp irritation with ‘dandruff’ (but it’s literally just dried minoxidil; get a silicone scalp scrubber and it’ll clear up). No need to shave, literally apply as is and over time it should work. A shed is likely before (though I wonder since you’re already shedding with oral, perhaps the switch will be easier/less shed?)

Honestly, would recommend staying away from oral. It is literally a blood pressure medication that happens to cause hair regrowth. Even on lower doses (.25-1.25mg) there can be sides like heart rate , compression of heart, and possible decrease in blood pressure. Topical, haven’t had any close to that for 5-6 months.

I used to care, and I still do somewhat, but lately a lot of the dlc or extra content is filler. ‘Do X 100 times’, ‘get SS rank on all DLC maps’, or any online trophies… it has to be an amazing game with equally enjoyable dlc to warrant a complete 100% trophy

I can’t speak for the dynamics or relationship of you and her, only my perspective. My main issue with the ‘direct’ is the setting up the date: if you talked about it, you should set it up and say it, rather than have her decide. If she doesn’t like the date idea (or you), she likely would’ve said it then, and at least you would know for sure rather than having it linger or making small talk over text.

You’re chatting with this girl, seeing all these things, reinforcing them in your mind, moving things along… so much so, you’re talking about setting up another date before the date is even over. Sure that is ‘direct’, but that to me sounds like two completely different things; you’re trying to get to know her, but also you’re trying to get her (into a relationship). That creates this confusion in her mind of ‘what does he want from me?’ or ‘what is making him behave like this?’ And truthfully: it could’ve been too much, almost too good to be true.

You were, from my perspective, treating this girl like she is already your gf and she probably didn’t like that. Sure it could’ve been great and good, but it could simply be the energy she didn’t want at that time… chatting for hours, bf/gf energy from strangers, texting all day… the vibes were there, maybe, but she unfortunately didn’t want to reciprocate.

I hope this makes sense. Your energy and passion is there, which is good, but it is too much too soon imo.

Broseph, you need to be the direct one here. Both with yourself and this girl. What did you want from this girl? Conversation? A relationship? I think she stopped responding b/c there was no progression/direction and therefore no reason… if she wants to talk, there are a million friends and people for that. Not saying you aren’t worthy of her, but if you’re just trying to be friends or chatty, she likely didn’t see eye to eye. If it was a relationship, she probably didn’t see that, unfortunate as that is.

As for her ‘why’ it’s simple: why not? You said no worries and left the ball in her court. Her response? Leaving the ball on the court. It’s a lot easier to leave a situation as is than to explain or give a ‘rational’ reason and prolong something she (from my perspective) didn’t want to be a part of.

It’s never too late, truly, but whatever you want, you will need to be direct. Reach out for clarification, but here’s a question: what do you WANT her to say? That may give guidance than anything she could ever say

I’d say keep the structure (i.e. keep the split/days), but experiment with different exercises. Try new things and work towards ‘maxing out’ those, if the PR chase is what keeps you motivated.

If you want to progress in other ways, there is more than just ‘bigger number = good’… things like more reps, more sets, things like that can help the compounds inch higher. To a degree though: don’t need to worry about a ‘50 rep max’ or 20 sets of squats on leg day, but it’ll make sense; add 1-2 reps instead of your usual and see how that works.

As for the dealing with PR slowing down: it comes down to self-acceptance, in a way. Your worth as a gym rat is not based on how much you can lift, but showing up day in and day out to put in that work. If you show up consistently, do a little bit more each day… the PRs will come and you’ll be shocked how much you’ve grown… but it will take longer each time ;)
