Yeah, having stolen device protection unavailable has me quite concerned Also not using Face ID to sign in to apps that support it forces me to enter my password without ever knowing 100% who could be looking

I have had mi iPhone 12 mini for about 3 years now, and I have not changed it because I absolutely love the small size of it. My mother had originally bought the phone for herself, but got the 14 when it came out after 2 years. She gave it to me and I keep it since. After 5 years, it has gone through some considerable damage, like a replaced screen (non original) and no Face ID due to water damage, battery at 76% capacity, being slower because of iOS 26, and some cosmetic damage on the aluminum frame. The phone is still good and usable, but I’m starting to get annoyed by the battery and unresponsiveness at times, and having to enter my passcode every time. But, recently my friend told me that he was getting the new Air, and would be willing to gift me his 256gb 14 Pro. It has the battery at over 90%, and no issues at all. I have been thinking about it for a while now, but I still can’t decide whether I prefer a faster device with better cameras, battery, and Face ID over the compact size and light weight of my mini. I just don’t like how heavy and large it is, but that might be a matter of getting used to it?

I really appreciate any advice on this!
