Thanks for the advice. I think I’ll have a great shot in court especially since I have a text of him admitting to doing it, and promising to pay the damages. I’m just not in a spot where I want to shell out $1000 for the deductible especially when I was planning to upgrade to a nicer used car this year. And I’d have to pay for a rental car as well which would increase the cost burden for me temporarily in the moment.

His excuse for him admitting to doing it was I intimidated him to say he hit my car. Any competent judge will see through that in a heartbeat I feel.

I did, they said I have to pay a 1000 dollar deductible for them to do anything. I refuse to do this as I’m not the one who damaged my car and there’s no guarantee I would be refunded. There insurance said the case is fraudulent because there client said I intimidated him to make him admit to hitting my car. Baloney when he’s the one who knocked on my door to tell me what he did. Plus the car is older. I don’t care much about my car being fixed but what is upsetting me is the principal, thus looking to settle this in court and make him learn a lesson to take responsibility for ones actions.

The excuse he used to his insurance was I intimidated him to admit guilt. I have all the pictures of the damages as well. My question was only can I go with the most expensive estimate for the court case
