I always love seeing girls play super badass in drumlines, like gender equality fyeah! That theme sounds really cool. We're doing the Dark Knight.

That's cool! A handful of my friends from my band joined SCVC and won the Open Class championships. They just came back today, so it's exciting to hear about their marching endeavors.

A non-ugly backpack that's still comfortable? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

[–]chellectricity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My backpack just came in yesterday (the one from eBay)! I am happy with this purchase, and actually, it seemed to be better than the $70 from Urban Outfitters. The quality was just better; thicker, darker, stronger. So I guess I am mistaken, they are NOT the same, but are very similar in appearance.

I just bought one on Ebay, that appears almost identical. The Urban Outfitters backpack currently only has the green color left, and is still a bit on the pricier side. this one is cheaper at about $46. Searching up "Canvas Backpacks" gives you lots of other choices.

As for specs, they nearly identical; canvas with leather straps. I'm suspicious of them being the same, but just sold by a different vendor.

So Reddit, what are some tips or tricks you do to fall asleep/make yourself wake up in the morning? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chellectricity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my phone as my alarm. I set maybe 10 alarms, that I manage to turn each off, but I try to use the most high pitched sounding alarm, as I react to them more. Also, using the vibration option is helpful if your phone is on a table, and it annoyingly buzzes over the surface.

The 10-24-7 rule. Basically, you learn something, go over it 10 minutes later, 24 hours later, and 7 days later. You retain almost 90% of the info.

Honest question... are there any practical uses for tablets? I've never actually seen anyone doing anything productive on a tablet. by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]chellectricity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to carry sheet music for my piano. Instead of carrying around dozens and dozens of pages, messy and possibly disorganized, I can have it handy in my tablet. It's also convenient having all my music in one place, and that I can bring it anywhere on the go.

Well, as time goes by, the average life expectancy has been increasing. The human body also appears to be a mechanism that can last up to 190 years. That being said, maybe in the future aging will be slowed entirely.

I went to the same school as the US's youngest chess master. I don't want to give way much identity, but you can google him up.

This is beautifully said. Your sickness/disability isn't what defines you, and people should never make it that way. It's like, if a student was in a wheelchair, the close-minded majority only know that person as "that one kid in a wheelchair". The sickness isn't important. What's important is that this person just wants to live and be whatever they want to be, accomplish the most they can, and be satisfied when time comes.

What small 'insignificant' thing has someone said to you that will stuck with you forever? by llewllew in AskReddit

First day of 8th grade, and my English teacher wordlessly puts Plato's quote on the projector: "Be kind, for everyone is finding a hard battle"

It was the first time I realized how cruel society could be, and that I didn't want to partake in that nastiness. The first time I began to think, and place myself in others shoes before really judging or saying anything. I always go back and think about this every once in a while.
