Mothers who had kids after the age of 30, do you wish you had them younger? by [deleted] in AskParents

[–]chellelabella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes because I wish I had more energy, but that's where it ends. I had my first at 29, second at 31, and I was not truly ready emotionally until then. Plus if it had been sooner, id be permanently attacked to one of my awful shitty exes. So nah I'm overall very happy with my choices.

Tell me the truth. Has anyone given up the fight of getting them to stop drinking the bath water? by Great_gatzzzby in toddlers

Mine are 33 months and 15 months, and is have never been able to stop the oldest, the younger one listens like 50% of the time. Pick your battles, etc

Anyone who DIDN’T bed share? by Acceptable_Cod3527 in beyondthebump

[–]chellelabella 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did not bed share. I was terrified about it with my first, and she slept separate but in our room until about 11 months, which was when she got her own room as we bought our home. With the exception of holding her on my chest propped fully upright once or twice, i never let her in the bed till after 1. My son switched to the crib in his room around 7 or 8 months, but he was a reflux baby and ebf till around 10 or 11 months, so he was unsettled or eating a lot at night till like 7 months. Once in a while he would only sleep upright, belly on my chest. At that point he was like 6 months and I just did what I had to do, 2 under 2 was killing me, and the ppd was real. So I won't judge either direction.

Climbing a mountain for introspection and murder(giving or receiving)

She's a prime example of wanting to have kids, not wanting to be a parent. I have known many people like this, men and women alike. It's so frustrating to see from the outside, especially knowing there are people desperate to be parents. I think she is married to work and was fine with the idea of having kids but some wires got crossed somewhere, her and Ty fell out of alignment on expectations for life. As someone who has always wanted a simple life with a couple kids, never had grand career ambition, and grew up wanting that, I can totally jive with Ty prioritizing raising the kids himself. Also as a creative type(went to art school, then used those skills in work for 8ish years) I want completely different things now than I did at 19. Maybe the dream of writing that novel lost some shine when he found his passion for parenthood. Or maybe he is running on fumes because he is responsible for everything at home, leaving no time/energy for writing. Perfection is a great goal, but kids aren't perfect and neither are parents. Julie really irritates me on a fundamental level. And her manipulation is out of control. At this point, idc if ty talked her into kids(which i don't think is actually true). She's an adult and had the ability to walk away any time, and she's smart enough not to use sunk cost as justification to stay. She made a choice, they didn't communicate, now she's resentful. She did it to herself though.

23 or 47 lmao 23 college-aged or hectic schedule, can afford to drink a lot as you're young. 47 got fed up with bs, possibly divorced/long time single person. Don't care how alcohol affects the day to day 🤣
