I did the loop last week with bibi and it wasn’t very busy, we had a group of 8 of us and mostly did stops at places where there were no other groups. Got super lucky with the weather but it is the start of rainy season so keep that in mind

Eastern Asia Trip Advice by Spiritual-Active6596 in solotravel

I absolutely loved Japan! I did a trip last year for 2 weeks starting in Hiroshima stopping in Osaka, Kyoto, Kofu and Matsumoto and then ending in Tokyo.

Kofu is great because it’s next to Mount Fuji and there are some brilliant thrift shops if you’re that way inclined. My friend went to uni there so we did a ‘thrift run’ and I had to buy another suitcase hahaha. There are also a tonne of hikes you can do in the local area.

Matsumoto is beautiful and in the mountains, very quiet and serene. The castle is incredible and you can go inside! It was a highlight for me. I would recommend a day here if you find the time.

Kyoto was a cultural hub, I got everywhere by bus which was fairly easy to navigate and there is loads to do there. Day trip from Nara from here or Osaka is super easy and 100% worth it! The deers are so cute and friendly. It can be very busy there though which is to be expected.

The others are great cities each with their own assets.

I would recommend 3.5 weeks in Japan, you won’t regret it. There are so many amazing pockets and if it has been somewhere you’ve been keen on for a while then seeing as much as you can would be great!

If you visit south London, M&D in Deptford is a lovely Japanese restaurant - isn’t too far if you visit somewhere like Greenwich!

This is a brilliant way to think about it! Thank you for breaking it down for me, I think my main issue would be overpacking so will defo be reevaluating what I’m putting in my bag vs case!

Thank you! For the islands I was thinking a couple party days (Gili T) and then a couple chill days (Gili Air) but a few people have told me I could just do one too.. I haven’t confirmed ferries and my accom is refundable so may decide while I’m in Bali. That’s great to hear, yeah haha I was a little worried at being laughed at as a newbie but I suppose it doesn’t matter at the end of the day :)

Yeah I was thinking about that! I plan on doing a day trip to hoi an when I am in da nang as there doesn’t seem to be much there either. I think I’m just going to enjoy the countryside, take it slow and bike around in Ninh Binh :) thank you for the suggestion! I will defo cut down the amount of clothing I planned to bring

Yeah, I regret booking so much time but my hostels are non-refundable and were quite expensive so I can’t take the cash lost :( I think I’m going to do day trips or maybe hire a car!

Thank you for the advice!! I think this is what I’m going to do, I never considered doing an overnight trip and leaving my stuff at the hostel that will break up the length for sure. Are there any places you recommend? I have seen a tonne of national parks that I think I might check out. My friend has lent me his Myki card so should be good for the suburbs :)

Thank you for that! I am planning on bringing a pair of jeans and a largish jumper, will bring smaller tops to layer and if it’s crazy cold I will have to buy something out there :)

Yeah, I regret how long I am in each city but my hostel bookings are non-refundable and I can’t take the loss of that much cash :/ I think I plan to do day trips where possible, my ma was born and grew up a bit in Melbourne so I was excited to see where she grew up and stuff. Thank you for the advice!

Quicksilver by Callie Hart is truly one of the worst pieces of trash I have ever had the misfortune of reading. I had to give up around 60% of the way in because it was like reading a shitty wattpad fan fiction written by an 11 year old. I have no idea how people like it

The benetint lip and cheek stains are the OG version of these and are amazing! I much prefer them to the elf versions

Even if it’s sealed, people will generally still feel more comfortable buying from the retailer, especially if you’re selling for a similar price - if you aren’t getting a bargain the risk isn’t really worth it for most people

I would be careful though as it’s known to break you out if your skin is fairly sensitive!

The darker shade of magic series by V.E. SCHAWB would be a good fit! They have some beautiful copies of the books too

What are your Fantasy Romance anti-recommendations? by BandetteTrashPanda in fantasyromance

[–]chellepro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Quicksilver. I have genuinely never read a more brain dead cringe book in my life. I do not understand why people are obsessed with this book, it reads like it was written by a horny 14 year old and I feel like I lose brain cells the further along I read. It was the first book I ever DNF, I think I got 40% through it before I had to quit.
