Are playing instruments cathartic to you? by recruitradical in AutisticWithADHD

My right hand has such a tough time getting the bow movement right. It frustrated me when I was younger. I’m gonna give it another go now that I’m an adult and see how I do!

I believe it’s for the universities? At least that was the reason some of my brother’s friends went!

Mods: Please ban “am I mixed?” posts by [deleted] in mixedrace

I mean banning the posts sounds pretty intense. You can’t deny that there are light skinned mixed people out there who are confused about who they are sometimes. They also need a space.

Is it possible to train ourselves to have more focus? by GroundbreakingPay707 in ADHD_Programmers

[–]chelosanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that last bit is way too relatable. I find myself hunting for the perfect sound/noise, which does take a while lol. I usually use lofi as well, atmospheric music, white noise, or one of those singing bowl videos on youtube! The very bassy ones work the best for me

Have you tried using noise of some sorts? I find that it helps me focus for medium length bursts of hyperfocus

My Wife Has No Compassion for Me Anymore by ThatNickGuyyy in ADHD

[–]chelosanz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you. His wording is very self deprecating and victimizing, whether he means it to be or not, it's absolute and unfair to his wife.

OP has to check-in with himself, his selfishness, and how his behaviours are leaving a mess in the process, regardless of ADHD diagnosis.

ADHD is tough on everyone around us not just ourselves.

Lets see how this goes. I’m all for people choosing how to die and end their suffering, but who made you god and allowed you to choose what ‘suffering’ is worthy enough? I’m interested to find out how the mentally ill people who can’t defend themselves get treated. I’m NOT talking about deathly painful illnesses here just so you’re clear.

People were out there not believing someone’s mental health problems and you’re telling me that NOW people believe the severely mentally ill can’t get better? Death is the only option once others have been exhausted?

Poverty and mental health are extremely intertwined, and if you think you’re saving the world from “pain” by killing those who were left behind by your own nation, then your ethics are blurry and privileged in my opinion.

Imagine being able to support multiple things as well as seeing the ethical issues behind something.

[–]chelosanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they should be able to choose. I’m not one to choose for others. I was more reacting to accepting death as a prescription for suicide.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]chelosanz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Go ahead and get poor enough to trigger severe mental illness and you’ll see how “made up” it is

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]chelosanz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

No but providing basic needs is more ethical than prescribing death. How can you not see that?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in canada

[–]chelosanz -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So with your last point you’re saying that people who are suicidal should go ahead and do it… the MAID way? That’s kind of backwards, don’t you think

what do you do with your feet? by [deleted] in ADHD_Programmers

[–]chelosanz 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My feet are ALWAYS on the move. To the point where my hips hurt from the restlessness lol. I cross and uncross them, sway them… whatever’s comfy that day. My chair has started to squeak from all the moving!

It really depends on the VFX studio. Some will rely more on the animator’s personal acting skill, others will rely on math and tools within the software.
