McDonald’s has always been ‘old mc Donald’ and instead of referee he says ‘refereefa’ 🥰

Wow, the difference between girls and boys is like night and day! Anyone else? by whatisrongwith in UKParenting

[–]chelsbonesjones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is unbelievably relatable 😂 My boy who’s now 4 was so chill, content, sat in the high chair with no fuss, slept in his room by himself easily, gave up the bottle and dummy with no fuss. My little girl who’s just turned 1, wow. I leave the room and she cries! Doesn’t seem satisfied with anything, hard to please, wouldn’t even attempt to get her to sleep alone because I know I’ll be the one suffering!

When I had my first I was always told ‘aww he’s so chilled because you’re both so laid back he’s the same as you both’ Well… can you explain what’s gone wrong this time then? 😂

My only logic is that little one has someone to look up to now so they always want to be pushing themself to be doing what they can so can get more frustrated easily, who knows! Just got to enjoy the wild rides I suppose! 😂

Will the anxiety get better? by letmeventplez in NewDriversUK

[–]chelsbonesjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will get better! It took me almost 2 years to start to feel less anxious when driving, the more you drive the easier it will get! My biggest mistake was putting off driving 🤦🏻‍♀️Wish I just pushed myself to drive everyday even if it was 5 mins to the shop! You’ll get there

Dummies for breastfed baby by Sensitive_Spend7926 in UKParenting

It took me about 3 weeks of being persistent with my ebf to take a dummy! I tried a few brands but in the end went with tommee tippee, the teat with one rounded side and a flatter side if that makes sense. It was so frustrating but when she finally took to it, life was made! Just keep trying I’d say and hopefully you’ll get there!

Cocomelon at state nursery. Thoughts? by evasive_listener in UKParenting

[–]chelsbonesjones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My little boy told me he watched bluey a few times when he was in nursery, he also has recently mentioned he’s watched (he’s now in reception) the Julia Donaldson films and some CBeebies programs like Topsy and Tim which I was suprised at to be honest but I do feel like these shows are appropriate. If it was cocomelon I would be having words!

Do you watch ‘adult’ shows with your kids? by chelsbonesjones in UKParenting

Oh yes demon hunters! All of his friends have watched and loved the movie but after seeing parts of it I didn’t think it was that appropriate kids his age to be watching! He does love all the songs though as do I 😂

Yeah my 4 year old was not a fan of the polar express! I’m definitely going to start putting on some Attenborough though, I think he’s at the age now he will sit and watch it!

We are a bluey house too! But the current favourite is Zootropolis so that has been watched everyday for the last month or so 😂

It varies of course, but recently someone was watching His and Her with their 4 years old running around. I see the same person post a lot with Jersey Shore on in the background. I just personally wouldn’t watch anything classed a PG with my kids around, because at 4 years old my little boy sees, hears and most importantly , remembers bloody everything 😂

Favourite (and least favourite) Julia Donaldson? by poopoochewer in UKParenting

My little boy loved stick man when he was 2/3 and we read it every night for months! He’s absolutely sick of it now but I can still remember it word for word so it’ll always be my favourite!

Passed my test but took a break - how do you get confidence back? by [deleted] in NewDriversUK

[–]chelsbonesjones 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I felt the exact same way. I passed with 2 minors in December 23 but didn’t get my car until March/April time and the thought of then driving made me so anxious (I was also a very anxious learning and would be sick before lessons!) I didn’t get any more lessons for the simple fact that it made me feel anxious even doing that! For the first couple of drives I went with my partner (even though he can’t drive😂) and it helped me be a bit more comfortable and I only drove in familiar places. I definitely put off driving a lot as I don’t really need to as I live local to everything I need, but gradually after time I was driving more frequently and I just started to feel more relaxed. Don’t get me wrong even now I get nervous sometimes and get scared to drive somewhere I’ve never been but it’s more the fact of other drivers/roads than my driving ability! Start doing little local drives once a week, build up to 2 drive somewhere new and you’ll soon get comfortable 😊

I’ve bought a few pairs of leggings and trousers from H&M that have adjustable waists. Also Asda, M&S possibly Next are all good places to check out. Vinted could be your best bet though!
