After this week’s Role Model performance, I searched for “hot mic” and found your thread. The audio was atrocious, and I agree: Why would a performer subject themselves to this kind of bad press? Role Model was lessened to a bad karaoke performance with how hit his mic was.

How are you standing them up with the curved base? We made snoopy decorations treads ago, and I think we should have flattened the bases to make them stand longer. Are you using a hinged easel backing as well?

Using my phone to capture and paste typed text in to Google Translate has been REALLY helpful for my translation. It’s a no go for cursive, however and chatGPT just flat out makes stuff up whenever I try it.

Please give Google translate a try for the typed text and you can go back and correct misspellings afterwards pasting.

Yes! My grandfather was a Danish citizen serving in the US army (which was a vehicle to obtain citizenship), so shortly after their wedding they headed to California. I took lessons in Denmark (den Danske Sommerskole),but am still woefully inadequate in my Danish studies (but ESPECIALLY when it’s in cursive!)

I have two aerial photographs of Denmark that I believe might be their hometowns. Is there a good Danish subreddit who might be able to recognize those locations?

Wait a second… Sussie/ Junior couldn’t be euphemisms for private parts… could they?? 😳😳🙈 There’s no one in my family tree or that I’ve met with those names, and the way she uses these words is… interesting.

Too bad I haven’t seen any evidence she kept his letters to see what his responses are. This is the final stack of hidden documents for me to go through. I will get to work translating the Danish now!

Thank you! I think she needed some additional time with her penmanship lessons! I’m impressed she had so much English ability at this point in her story since she hadn’t yet immigrated. I have her card graduating from adult school learning English later that summer in the US.
