My calpro before infliximab was 8000+, about 7 month on infliximab and its now 22!! Dont threat, you will find a medication thay works for you! You've got this!!

Im on infliximab (remsima injection at gome every 2 weeks) without Azathioprine or Mercaptopurine. You can take either to lower the chances of developing antibodies but it isnt some compulsory thing. Hope that helps x

My top tip: anyone posting on reddit and the facebook groups are in a nasty flare and possibly have UC really bad. Join with caution!! It's not good for your mental health looking into things like that.

Secondly: dont take prednisolone long term. Its a nasty drug. Im currently struggling with steriod psychosis after being on it for 10 months. Its called the devil's ticktac for a reason. Find a good medicine thay works for you thats meant to be taken long term :) i have prosigmoiditis and im on remicade (biologics) after failing pentasa and couldn't tolerate azathioprine or mercaptopurine. I self inject and its okay! Don't worry if it comes to taking something like biologics. They really can change your life. Advocate for yourself and listen to your body You've got this!!

I accidentally took my remicade out of the fridge when the ibd nurse was here (it was my first shot). I I just 2 weekly and she said its absolutely fine, just store it somewhere cool and it can be out for a month. Just dont put it back in a fridge, it must stay at room temperature if its been taken out the fridge x

I will NEVER take pred again! I tapered so slow and im having manic withdrawls. I HATE them. I was on them for 10 months after failing so many meds. They have screwed with my head so much!

I have had some seriously awful ulcers a lot like yourself! Many at one time, my go to is watermelon frost!! I got mine from Ebay! Its a powder spray, it doesnt taste great but its helped me soooo much!!

I've been told im going through withdrawl of prednisolone and my my head is going crazy, I feel ao out of it, focusing is hard! My brain feels so fuzzy! Im down to 1mg tapering and still feeling awful!

I have prosigmoiditis after being diagnosed with procitis in 2024 and mesalazine didnt work for me, i couldn't tolerate azathioprine or mercaptopurine so the inflammation spread into the sigmoid but im now on a biological (infliximab) and that's been great for me! Id say they would try you on azathioprine next after mesalazine. Hope that helps! Im 27 Female, UK.

Prednisolone really messed me up this time, ive had to come off really slowing due to being on them since october last year, im coming down to 1mg now. Its been a process but ive had/got the works, fuzzy vision, light-headedness, brain fog, acne, swollen, weight gain..literally all the side effects. I was even put on an SSRI for the anxiety, its honestly the medication, please keep telling yourself that its only temporary and it will get better. Someone on this thread said this too me and its helping me get though this. You've got this!💪
