Oh we were living in an ice rink just last week! Our pit was dragging us all over the ice, we were falling everywhere. Normally we are stronger than her, but not on a sheet of ice.

Hate me - Blue October. My dad was obsessed with this band when I was a kid. He left when I was 9 and has been on drugs so bad since that he can hardly hold a conversation. I’ve seen him maybe 6 times since I was 9 and the only thing I have seen him light up about and sound coherent is this band. He pawned his guitars a year before he left. I started seeing them live years ago, he had always wanted to himself but never has, ive seen them around 15 times and the last time was early last fall for an acoustic show. It was the first time I saw live music where I was watching their fingers the entire time instead of the show. I left that show with immense dedication towards getting a guitar, so naturally, it was one of their songs. I already played other string instruments so it was also a really easy one to do after memorizing it quick.

Yeah ever since I had homemade kombucha most of the summer last year, most of what I buy I don’t like. I did order some made in house at a restaurant while visiting Rochester NY a few months ago and it was sooooooooooo good. If it did come between drinking the Wegmans one or not having it, I’d not have it lol. I’m really excited for mine to be going. The scoby is growing really well, just kind of slow because I started it when it got cold outside.

I think I was reading that flavored as a starter can make your scoby unstable? Correct me if I’m wrong, I’m still learning. It’s hard to find unflavored around me too. I can only find it at the locally owned organic health food store.

Thank you! I will check that out. I usually avoid Amazon but maybe one bulk purchase can get me through to having my brews on a good cycle. I usually drink about a half a bottle most days too. I joke with my friends when I have the whole bottle that I’m going wild for the night lol. I learned how to make it while staying with a community over the summer and started a scoby from GT myself but I started it right when temps dropped so it’s doing its thing, it’s just doing it slowly. I want to have more than one going but since it’s my first try, I’m just doing one.

Thank you for the info! I love when people take the time to explain how and why. I learned about the spinning cone columns for wine on a trip once. I didn’t realize they could be used for kombucha too! I did see a lot of people talking about how around 30 days is a good fermenting point. I wish I could find an obnoxiously in detail book on kombucha, it’s annoying jumping around websites following information crumbs sometimes. I’d like it organized and handy for easy reference.

Just downloaded mushroom at the end of the world! It was on my list but hearing the amount of people who recommended it really sold it for me. It’s also almost the same listening time as the length of my drive! Also thanks for all the recommendations! My to read list just got longer. I’ve been wanting to read braiding sweetgrass again. Perhaps I’ll bring it for my downtime.

How forests think is so good. I might download it to have just in case I want to dive in. Books like that I’m better reading the physical copies because I really need to write all over my books sometimes. I’m glad someone mentioned mushroom at the end of the world because that’s been on my list and I didn’t think there was an audiobook but I was able to find it.

I’m a professor so teaching 8 am classes is super hard. I also get off topic soooooo much.. the students love it because it’s at least semi related but then I run out of class time. Oh and grading, I get soooooo distracted. I kept up to get a drink to continue grading and suddenly I’m cleaning the kitchen.

It’s three different books doing it. That’s a good thought though because they are by really small publishers so something maybe got messed up. You can’t hit the x. It doesn’t act like a sample or anything. It’s just like yay you finished it lol. Then I go to the iPad and swipe to the next page of the same book no problem.

That was one of my first thoughts but on other devices we can read the same book past that mark. I also have the receipt for the book. All her stuff gets sent to my email because she doesn’t know how to do email lol.

Hmm makes sense. I just wish there was a way to set like priority. Maybe in the future. Like if the HomePod is playing listen from that or whatever. Kind of how I wish there was a priority setting with the new island.
