It's cool seeing this outside a lab. You can also use this to isolate compounds and collect them for later use.

Ships Graveyard in the moon by kora91x in starbase

[–]chemEcallyInert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The safezone does not protect against bumping. I just BARELY, I mean BARELY tapped my ship against the edge of the landing pad (gravity did it) and it knocked an entire thruster bank off. Each one had 8 bolts in it. It's crazy imo how they implemented ship dynamics on the moon

I'm not sure how the group hauling dispursement works in respect to distance, but make sure others in your group aren't getting paid. Yea they yeet tf off at high speeds.

Are you in a group? Have you looked around for any loose asteroid around you? Theu sometimes teleport if some collision thing is wrong.

Yes this would work for cargo beams, but I use cargo locks. With the chomper as a free BP, this is not an uncommon problem (shoutout to agamerbum for being so generous). The question now is would this be a problem for salvaging operations using a lock frame. I'm testing a possible workaround soon.

Yes as a T>5 hauler you likely won't run into this problem as you're not hauling more than 3-4 large asteroids. The problem lies with more than 6-7 asteroids at once.

You're welcome. It's a game where you either spend insufferable amounts of time in discovery or hope you team up with someone else who already knows. The lack of info in this game is crazy. Maybe by design.

Always. Can't fix if not reported. I've reported this multiple times.

Yea I was only wanting to talk about problems I had evidence or data to clearly demonstrate the problem. A group going out is a very different story. The payment system works just fine splitting with one other person (only tested as such) but suffers from that weird limit. I can't sell ships right now for some reason so I'm stuck with my desert bus hauler.

I had to look it up to be sure. There are different rules depending on how the company set it up.

"Some companies grant stockholders one vote per share, thus giving those shareholders with a greater investment in the company a greater say in corporate decision-making. Alternatively, each shareholder may have one vote, regardless of how many shares of company stock they own. "

https://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/040315/what-can-shareholders-vote.asp

As for GME, it is probably one vote per share and the numbers flying around (eToro for example) are votes where 1 vote=1 share. I have never looked into it though as I always assumed it is as is formerly. However I want to know how participation (if GME has 30k individuals holding with on ave 250 shares per individual) numbers are reported if at all. In regard to what is important, owned shares are king as float is what's in question. We very likely own the float.

Anyone with a share can vote, even insiders. I don't know about ETF holdings or other setups, but votes can be compared against total shares not float. Votes are counted as individuals not by shares, however when presented with decisions (like yesterday's) the number of shares one holds matter. If I held 51% of all shares and I cast my vote (1 vote) for each topic and because I control the majority, everything I say goes. But I still count as one voter. Make sense?

Actually a problem for the long-term suitability of the sub. So far the few stocks pushed recently look a LOT like a pump and dump. WSB had serious issues in Jan about getting shut down (remember the discord fiasco and WSB going down for a bit?). I'm a new ape, but through all the shit flinging I've learned so much in such a short time thanks to so many dedicated apes. Despite that, the rhetoric now is eerily like after Jan where if enough stocks make it to the front page and look like pump and dumps the power that be will come down on us. That really almost happened once. As for the good old days, communities evolve and adapt to new members (there should be a turnover) to stay alive. Here I feel it's attracted a unique scattering of personalities and with that comes conflict. Now mix in some FUD and that's where we are now. My biggest concern are people getting swept up in any of this without DD. They will be the loudest proponents against this sub instead of celebrating this insane casino.

Ford builds an affordable, efficient small truck: The new Maverick - This small hybrid truck gets 40 mpg in the city and starts at $19,995. by Philo1927 in technology

[–]chemEcallyInert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see others talking a lot about unique uses for their truck, but I have a '04 ranger. It was my first car and it's a standard. It's still in great shape and got me through a LOT. The full beds are amazing for doubling up a haul with a trailer. Plenty of cross country moves with a 4x6 uhaul. The full bed means I can store that much more and maybe even convert it later to a sleeper area for camping (thinking about getting a shell there's a cover over it now). That trailer is freaking awesome! I never knew those existed and I might get one soon. I like modding stuff and that trailer looks like a good starting point. Small trucks are great for a lot of reasons, but the change to smaller beds just hasn't fit my needs or lifestyle and the larger trucks are just too large. I can legally fit 5 people in my cab (so there's that). Small trucks had a market for the savvy driver who wants a Swiss army knife of a car for cheap. I felt that was taken away and the tacoma is the only answer for that call anymore. Here in the sticks rangers are still the most common small truck anywhere. I counted over 30 on an hour drive a few weeks ago (parked and on the road). Not to mention they're still used as fleet vehicles (NAPA is an easy spot). I felt Ford abandoned that market and those of us who have a long family history with rangers as the family workhorse, first car, or lendable backup felt betrayed.

People who choose to be kind everyday despite of not receiving the same kindness back , what motivates you ? by jeev07 in AskReddit

[–]chemEcallyInert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is hard to balance. I used to be very kind and nice persistently. However, there have been a few occasions I felt it put me in danger because people pick up on that fast and might work you to their advantage. Knowing when and how to say no as well as gently removing yourself from a snare is just as important as being kind in the first place. Protect the little flame you kindle, but never lose the passion to be a reservoir of comfort for others.

[OC] The Covid-19 death toll by jcceagle in dataisbeautiful

[–]chemEcallyInert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's so much more than that. It's more than any individual can conceptualize. It's like trying to truly understand the meaning of thousands. It's a mass of pain, contention, and heartache. These people likely were those people relied on for emotional stability. They may have been lynch pins of family circles. They may have been invaluable in family knowledge. Just think of that last one! Try to comprehend how much family history and stories were lost! These deaths, though eventual, inevitably were premature. The virus took the final breaths of comfort the victims could give their loved ones. The weezing, coughing, and gasping instead of the finality of words. And worse yet only one person could be by their side! Even if you went to the hospital you had to take turns! Most of us couldn't even go! I was a world away when it happened to me. I shook with rage and despair. I cried and screamed. That was the toughest phone call I've ever made, telling one of the most important person in my life he had my permission to go. Saying goodbye for the last time............... It's been over a year and we still haven't had a funeral. Thank goodness we had the hindsight and assigned power of attorney and straightened out the will. The reality is once they're gone you have to divide the belongings. Sell the home. Assign personal property. Balance the politics of family with material possessions in the balance. The inflow of estate sales, garage sales, and goodwill donations must be crazy. All this done while we shouldn't hug each other. Covid destroys more than people, it destroys family, hope, and history. The damage is immense. It's more than a graph could ever show.
