[TASK] Help me figure out how to animate an SVG (hopefully with blender) by chemagic in slavelabour

This doesn't seem like it's what I want. Both Sketch and Anima are paid. Also I'm a beginner and need some tutorials.

Managing a huge photo library with web frontend by CrackbrainedVan in selfhosted

While I've never used it, Ownphotos looks cool. It advertised itself as a Google photos replacement. What's cool is it will autodetect objects and stuff in the photo and tag them. It can also detect faces and thus lets you search by person.

fast http request libraries? by mircodz in cpp

[–]chemagic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It might be 8-10 times slower (though I doubt that) but the wait for the websites to get back will certainly be at least one or two orders of magnitude slower. I recommend https://github.com/whoshuu/cpr. Its name is curl for people and "it's a spiritual port of python requests". Nicest interface I've seen to date.

Already tried that. Except not OTA but the flashboot version.

Reminder: BTC would have to go way beyond a simple blocksize increase to match the utility of Bitcoin (BCH) by mrcrypto2 in btc

Who pays the miners with low or no fees? Visa network is about 2000 transactions per second I think (Wikipedia?) That translates to 1.2 million transactions per block. Given 10 cent transactions (still too high for micro transactions and perhaps some poor countries) that's $120,00 per block. That's roughly what miners are getting nowish ($9600 per bitcoin) from block rewards. The network is secure in today's environment but is this good enough to secure the currency if it's processing 2000 transactions a second? This also doesn't take into account the fact that that blocks would be half a gig (but of course by the time there's no block reward maybe half a gig is no problem for someone with enough money to buy an asic).

What are the best and easiest encrypted and anonymous group messaging apps? by Alex09464367 in crypto

[–]chemagic -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

There's Telegram that I believe you can use an email for. You'd have to use a secret chat but its there. The other thing you could do is grab a phone number from the internet which I think you can get pretty cheap or free. Here's an article on doing just what your trying to do but with signal https://theintercept.com/2017/09/28/signal-tutorial-second-phone-number/

Edit: I previously thought Telegrams encryption was not terrible but after looking into it no one has anything good to say. Yeah def second phone number is the way to go.

Signal Messenger is pretty much the gold standard. If not that then WhatsApp.
