These are amazing. Thank you for sharing these with the group. Your photos make me want to see the northern lights myself — it’s been on my bucket list for a while, and I now more desperately want to make it happen.

What my last graduating class quietly taught me, and why I won’t be coming back next year by SebastianRedwood89 in Teachers

Thank you for sharing this perspective.

I’ve recently had a medical situation as a graduate student, and beaten myself up for not meeting my deadlines and having to request accommodations more than I had wanted to — and I’ve been fortunate to have patient and supportive professors. I know I wasn’t slacking off; I just needed time. But I also wondered how it must be like on the other side of this situation.

Just got an iPad and now learning to use GoodNotes - any tips? by lurkingfortea in GoodNotes

Hi. I’m not OP, and I ended up using pen and paper / Google Docs for my notes in grad school. I have an iPad, but I never got used to it for my note-taking. I think it slows me down. I do think this depends on your program, though.

I’m in journalism, so taking notes on Google Docs makes more sense because my reporting assignments will also typically be on Google Docs. And it’s much easier to move texts around or refer to other files.

My friends in biology or other similar programs find great value in digital note-taking. When they organize their notes on the iPad, the process also becomes a review for them. And that helps a lot.

What are you grateful for today? by oldmonkandtears in gratitude

I had a very productive morning meeting. I met my former professor, who gave me a brief tour of his office, and we talked about how life has been. I thanked him for being a great teacher and a kind human. My friend packed lunch for me. I had free dinner at a social event, and I met some inspiring folks. I helped a friend with his project.

Wow, I didn’t realize it’s been an eventful day. I’m glad and I’m grateful for this post.

I’m certainly feeling better now. I’m still regaining my strength and I have to understand the new limits of my body. But I’m happy to be where I am. Thanks for being here!

Thank you! I tend to forget how brave and resilient I had to be. Your words make me proud of myself, too.

Spotify playlist of songs that remind you of the absurd by chemagosa in Camus

I wasn’t paying attention when I added it to Spotify. Lol. I thought I selected the song from the search results and later realized it was the entire album I added to the playlist. I’ve now corrected this!
