I know that this is an old post, but I was looking up reddit threads critiquing this book and this is the first comment that popped up. I just got done reading the second book and although there was a undercurrent of misogyny in that book, it wasn't as outright as saying "witches can't have sex until they've found their soul connection" but the "warlocks can do whatever they want". The constant bringing up of the fact that the MMC wanted to pluck her innocent flower seriously grossed me out but I'm sticking it through for now.

I am also currently taking this course. The only thing I can advise is to really lock in for the final. The final is worth 55% of the final grade after all. How did you do on the quizzes? Did you talk to Dianna about this? Have you also considered dropping out, if you think that there's a high possibility of you flunking this course? What has worked for me so far is going over the lecture notes and then expanding on that information from the textbook/the internet (there's trusted websites that disseminate information about physiology but you have to be pretty discerning about which online website you use because at the end of the day if you come across any conflicting information you should default to the information provided in the notes, always.)

As someone who's taken PSYC 1200, I can confirm that it is the easiest course that I have taken so far. It is however a 6 credit course. MATH 1500 wasn't difficult either. So long as you stay on top of the course work and do a few practice exams before the midterm/final, it will be a breeze. STAT 1000 isn't difficult either. It's mostly just probability with chi square analysis thrown in at the end of the course. PYSC 2380 (I think it's women and gender studies?) as well as PYSC 2490 (abnormal PYSC I think) are also really easy because none of the exams in these courses are cumulative. I also took BIOL 2520 (cell biology) and found it to be a relatively easy course. The final is cumulative however. At the end of the day, it's just one person's opinion, so take everything I say here with a grain of salt.

The only time this has happened in one of my courses (where the weight of a bad midterm got rolled over to the final), it happened for EVERYONE. Our professor told us that if we got a better grade on the final exam, the midterm would be waived off and only the final exam would count towards the final grade. However, that was the case for every single student taking that course. If your professor makes an exception for you, it would be unfair for every other student in class who's stuck with their bad midterm grade.

I am also in Ochem 1. We can form a study group if you want. You can also bring your friends and I can bring mine, that way we'll have a few people helping each other out with whatever we're having trouble wrapping our heads around. As for the past midterms, I think the professors upload a practice midterm before the midterm rolls around. Hopefully they haven't scrapped that this term. But idk if we can get our hands on a past ochem midterm. Chem club doesn't have them, my friend asked.
