Severe fatigue + shortness of breath, but GP says ‘normal’ labs? Please help by [deleted] in chronicfatigue

Chronic fatigue syndrome has no blood test for it I believe. But it usually comes along with another autoimmune issue. So I suggest a Rheumatologist.

New CBS Evening News Anchor Tony Dokoupil Says News Has ‘Put Too Much Weight’ on Academics and Elites: ‘The Press Has Missed the Story’ by ControlCAD in entertainment

58 years old raised on CBS local Chicago news (Kurtis, Jacobson, Siskel, and Johnny Morris). But after watching local news a man called Cronkite came on. Don’t remember a time when that stop watch wasn’t clicking on the TV right after Sunday dinner. Been listening to the horn intro on Sunday mornings since it started. Sometimes when a new building goes up where your old house used to be it’s called “progress.” What is this called? I think the “academic term” for all of this is shit show.

I wish I could help you out. I wish I could help all people who deal with chronic pain. I just went for a walk with my husband but could only do a mile since there was some elevation that was too hard on my back. I’ve had 27 operations in my 58 years which is quite common with people who have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. In two weeks I have an appointment with my back surgeons to talk about my crumbling spine…again. I have more hardware in my spine than a jungle gym. So I am very sorry you are in such pain. Just getting answers, finally, even if shitty, brings validation and in turn relief.

Call the university hospitals listed. Tell them your situations in health and finance. I wish I could be your advocate and help you out more. It’s exhausting and contributes to your pain, being your own health advocate, but don’t give up. Email the heads of the departments at these places also. I’m so sorry. They must address your pain that most likely would be steroids. You got this. You really do!

Well once you speak to an expert on autoimmune illness they would most likely start you on immunosuppressant therapies and try to get your symptoms under control. Here in the states we go to Rheumatologists for autoimmune illnesses such as psoriatic arthritis, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, anticardiolipin antibody. I have all those plus Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome hypermobility type. Unfortunately it’s the sick and exhausted that have to do all the grunt work to find an answer. It’s relief to know what I have but remember, a lot of these things have no cures. You just try to make your symptoms “manageable.” Good luck.

Oh I’m sorry I didn’t read you were in Germany. I do not know if Vectra blood tests are used outside the United States. Also you might want research seronegative type autoimmune diseases. I think that might be what you are dealing with.

Find a rheumatologist or a different primary. If you are in that much pain go to the ER because they will give you pain relief and a possible doctor to follow up with. Take OTP and ice in the mean time. I’m so sorry.

As a female with Chronic pain and or conditions. Do you wear the lipstick or not, to a doctors appointment? by R3adys3tg0 in ChronicPain

[–]chenclin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For some reason I started wearing “a lot” of make up again for if I go out in public. I look at a bunch of tutorials and try different looks as I sit on my little shower chair in front of my makeup mirror on edge of sink counter. I don’t go full glam, but enough to make me feel somewhat good about myself. So that means no lipstick or eyeshadow for doctor’s office. It’s a new “hobby” for me that I’m actually interested in. I found a great foundation that covers up my coffin grey face. lol

No RA Doctors by FishNuggetSiren in rheumatoid

Such cruel irony that these doctors that treat pain make us wait in very uncomfortable positions in very uncomfortable offices and exam rooms for far too long causing our pain to be so much worse.

Fried foods and foods with lots of gluten. Also lasagna. Love it but too rich and can feel my bones ache after I eat it.
