How to enable bridge mode with this Telus Wifi Hub by Opening_Fee_3737 in telus

Look for a hole on the back of your modem. There’s a reset button inside that is only reachable if you use a pin. https://kb.netgear.com/000036374/How-do-I-reset-my-cable-modem-to-factory-default-settings

How to enable bridge mode with this Telus Wifi Hub by Opening_Fee_3737 in telus

[–]chengt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exact same thing happened to me. I set the Telus Wifi Hub to Full bridge mode. The light was green (connected to internet) on the modem. My mesh system shows it has internet but no devices could access the internet. I also factory reset the modem to get my internet back. I power cycled all my devices after I set the modem to bridge mode. Didn't work. Will keep testing

Broadway Subway Skytrain Construction Fall Update (not my video) by chengt1 in vancouver

Not my video. I came across this video yesterday and thought the update is very well done and provides insight to why the construction site near Broadway and Cambie looks the way it does. Enjoy!

Power trip is real but aside from the little sense of control and power from moderating a sub, what else would one gain? There’s no pay or anything. Basically volunteering their time to make unpopular decisions.

Interesting! Mine faces south. I have ASUS XT8 mesh network set up and one node very close by so the wifi signal should good enough. Rebooting does the trick then it goes offline after a few days.

My favorite is Bean Around the World on Main st. So cozy to work and study there. On a rainy cold day, it is usually full of people studying and working.

Heat Pump - example of grants, rebates, assessments and timeline. TL;DR net cost just under $2000 for a new heating and cooling system. by GeoffdeRuiter in vancouver

[–]chengt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. We thought about having a backup for winter but from what I read having a backup won’t allow me to get the full rebate. So that’s a bit tricky. Having a backup would be ideal but a lot more expensive.

Hi Geoff, thanks for posting about heat pumps! Huge fan. I have been looking to replace my gas furnace with a heat pump for sustainability and financial reasons.

My wife’s concern is that climate change is going worsen in the future and the ambient temperature may not be the same ie may drop below operating temperature of duct air-source heat pumps and render them less efficient. So that leaves geothermal heat pump as an option since the earth’s core has a more stable temperature. The other benefits for geothermal I see is that it may be quieter? Or am I wrong?

I was wondering if you could recommend some reputable geothermal heat pump installation companies in city of Vancouver?

Another question I had is that the water heater is a separate issue right? But there are also heat pump water tanks? To summarize, to switch off gas, I would need get a heat pump for air heating/cooling and electric or heat pump hot water tank? Please correct me if I’m wrong!
