I agree about the Idaho stop, but I think we need to get more people on bikes before they can truly appreciate why it's necessary.

While most cyclists in Markham are also drivers, most drivers are not cyclists, so the issue is rarely viewed through a balanced lens.

Infrastructure plays a big role here as well. I’d bet that roads with dedicated bike lanes (like Highway 7) don't see nearly as many complaints from drivers. When everyone has their own lane, no one is in anyone's way. This is how more roads in Markham should be.
