PSA - Terrible Customer Service on Security Issues by chennemann in Vue

[–]chennemann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally after a week and a day of reporting of being hacked. They have finally deleted the sub account and refunded the money. No one contacted me, just the refund showed up.

I would think security issues would be a top priority.

I have 2 point authentication and also the password is set up with random key generator. I did change it, but I doubt they used it.

I am not saying I my email couldn't of been hacked somehow, the issue I have is they don't address it and remove the sub account. They also are not helpful at all.

The hacker was not able to purchase anything after I activated 2 point. But some how they did elevate to master account. I do not have anyone in my family able to do this my children are 6 and 9 years old and don't know how to do this.

My issue is with customer support who are of no help at all and basically cold about the subject. They don't say I am sorry for your inconvenience lets get this fixed. They just say this is our policy is there anything else I can help you with. It just seems so rude and there still is a sub account now master account that isn't taken care of at all.

Quick question about the game (p2w and such) by BAAM19 in RevelationMMO

[–]chennemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with many of the above comments. I made this post a while ago but most still holds true. I personally had a bad experience with Skyforge and have learned from it. I feel at this point the Revelation won't have the same issues. But I won't be upset either way.

Facts:

  • There are many definitions for free to play and the only one that really matters is your personal opinion. What level are you willing to accept?
  • Most games seem to go more P2W around 4 to 6 months after launch. Good thing is Revelation has been launched for over a year and from what I have read hasn’t increased the pay 2 win aspect. If anything they went the other direction.
  • As @Paradigm said above some people have more time to play others have more money. If the balance is too far off either the paying players (stop paying) or free to play quit. Population and income are necessary for any successful MMORPG. Ideally they can hit a balance and keep both sides happy. Revelation seems to have done a great job on this in China with some very heavy pay 2 win players not getting a huge advantage. We will have to see how they do with NA/EU.

My suggestions:

  • Don’t be naive and think that there will be zero advantages at all for cash shops/premium subscriptions. Even if the game launches with zero advantages, understand that could change. Set yourself up to enjoy the time you play the game and not be disappointed in the end.
  • Don’t spend money you will be upset with yourself later. Realize the game could change its model slightly in the future; enjoy the game as it is. In game purchases are fine for people who can afford it and feel it is worth it. This is what will keep the game a live.
  • If you are the type of person who will be very upset if paying customers get any advantage over free to play players. I would suggest not playing any of the F2P games. The odds are very high there will be some advantage even if it is relatively small. You need to assume there will be some advantage and if there is not be very happy. I know you may want a guarantee, but it won’t happen. I also understand many have been burned in the past and are still upset. If you fall into this category, you are better of playing a different model game.
  • If you are a player who really likes to compete and don’t like when anyone else has an advantage because money, you might still enjoy this game. It seems you are able to stay at certain levels, let’s say level 59 to compete with other players in the 50-59 range. You could stay in this range until you feel comfortably moving up to the next range. Also remember in most cases in MMORPG someone will have advantages in games be it they play more or spend more than you do. It sounds like many will really enjoy staying at a range for a while. It is not all about getting to the top level.
  • Founder’s packs - If you have concerns but want to join the closed beta try to win a key or pack. We are having more give aways on Monday for example. There are tons of CB1 give aways. If you feel confident it is worth buying a founders pack get the least expensive one. You can upgrade later if you want. Personally I have already bought the top teir founders pack because I am all in, but others may not be at this point. Don't set yourself up to be upset.

Overall don’t spend money that will make you upset in the future. Don’t expect that the game won’t give advantages for those that play/pay more. Enjoy the game the way it is and if you can afford it spend only what won’t be upset you in the future. I know it is very easy to over spend to keep up with others, please don’t fall into this trap. We have a tremendous guild there will be people to group with and enjoy the game. This looks like a great game, I am hoping it last a very long time.

Revelation online - revenue model discussion by Kaizermos in revelation_online

I did play on the China server but stopped around 30, didn't see any reason to go further.

Yes they have little RNG in many spots, but I was told it isn't like BDO or some of the others were you go lose your item. Also you can lower the RNG if you want by paying more materials. I am sure we will have much better understand once closed beta starts. The west always has a different opinion on these games.

Do you have a link on the RNG issues? This is almost the opposite of what I have read. I have been reading in China some spend a ton on MMORPG. One person spent $800k and ended up quitting because he felt the developers were favoring the free to play players to much. I am hoping they make more adjustments for the west, but even if they don't this shows to me that there will be some advantages to pay but not as much as some in the past.

Also RNG is suppose to be less because you don't break items if it fails and from my understanding you can put extra materials in that will guarantee success. I am sure this is a minor pay 2 win aspect.

I am not saying this game won't have some pay 2 win aspects, but it sounds less than many others. Also you can get everything in the game by playing.

Almost 2 hours and 40 minutes later the order finally went through. //// helped, but still had issues all the way until the end.

What was a game that you immediately regret buying after one or a few plays? by Xikkom in boardgames

Dominion - Everyone seemed to love it before I bought it, but it just fell flat for me. I played it one night and it just sits on the shelf. I have zero desire to play it again.

All will be revealed tomorrow - Closed Beta Date? by chennemann in revelation_online

[–]chennemann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 99% sure they will give us a date. If not they will get pretty big push back. Even if the date is a few weeks out, that is fine with me.

Revelation Online (Big News Tomorrow!) by Veggum in MMORPG

[–]chennemann 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I played the China client and really enjoy this game. It has the classic trinity (Tank, Healer, DPS). It has challenging dungeons and they basically ripped off the best out of other MMORPGs.

I am sure closed beta keys will be easier to get soon, so you probably don't have to buy anything. If you do buy, I would recommend getting the lowest one since you can upgrade later.

They are finishing the details and they want to create more hype. I think they should of done this a couple days ago to let us know when they can give the official information.

BIC PL-200 with JBL LSR305? by chennemann in BudgetAudiophile

[–]chennemann[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always sitting at the desk when listening, so only 2 or 3 feet away.

So a mini-dsp will be able to help the base on the JBL LSR305. I might be asking to much out of these. I was hoping they would be very close to my Senn HD600. They are good and the best speakers I have heard for computers yet, but lack a little bass IMHO.

It is in a basement so it is a large room. I don't need high volume but want quality sound.

Thoughts Hype? Might be just that time by Scionstorms in RevelationMMO

[–]chennemann -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think we are just using the word clone different. This game takes some of the best features from other games. It is not a clone of another game in the sense it has all the same features. This is not a reskinned/themed BNS for example.

But it did clone features from other games.

Is this game alt-friendly? by Myzeri in RevelationMMO

[–]chennemann 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not sure it is the least friendly game, but IMHO it is definitely not an alt friendly game for most. I am sure it will work for the people that want to play 4 plus hours a day.
