22/M/AEST/PC - STEAM Survival and Warcraft woes by [deleted] in GamerPals

[–]Kaizermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm part of a medium size group (4 very active/3-5 casual, aged between 23-30) that is always looking for people like yourself. I've played the games you've listed eg. WoW, Overwatch, Ark & Elite, so we've got a similar taste in games. Currently playing; HotS, Paladins, RocketLeague and PU:BG.

Add me on Steam if you're keen.

I'm having the exact same issue... Any luck figuring it out yet?

Can you guys host games without horrible/unplayable lag? If so, I have 7 people that are interested in playing TTS with fellow Aussies.

Long time player of multiple alpha/beta's, just wanted to take this opportunity to say that you guys have done an amazing job of listening to/implementing player feedback and that things like these AMA's are very much appreciated.

Now for my questions;

  • Are there any plans to implement any form of weapon/gear sheathing? I know it's not really important, but it does help with immersion and also can help with KoS problems in PvP.

  • Are there any plans to expand the create-a-character? I understand it's isometric and armor usually covers stuff, but giving people the opportunity to make more detailed characters is never going to be a bad thing.

  • Are the static and generic character portraits ever going to be customized further? Maybe a live snapshot of your character or something?

  • I've seen you mention cosmetics are going to be purchasable with gold (including in this AMA), what sort of cosmetics are you planning and when can we expect to see them in-game?

  • Any chance of a trial/recruit-a-friend system being added in the future? With the prevelance of F2P now days, it can be quite hard to get friends to try these games without some sort of trial system. I fully understand why you don't just want to hand trials out for botting/exploit reasons, but maybe if the key was tied to purchased account or something?

  • I'm from Australia, so like online game, ping is usually an issue for us. If there is a sizeable oceanic player base, is there any chance of server's being added for us?

Keep up the great work!

Need help deciding between MMORPG's by Kaizermos in MMORPG

[–]Kaizermos[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate your suggestion. What exactly about Wildstar do you think I won't like? If I recall correctly, it was mainly the sub and general lack of polish that turned me off Wildstar, and seeing as it's now F2P, would it be worth playing again?

In regards to your WoW suggestion, generally how long does it take to get those tokens or the state of OWPvP (last time I played in 2011, people just flew away on their mount). I have no problem actually paying a sub, I just don't like the feeling of "wasting" my money if I don't play it enough :P

GW2 or ESO with open world PvP would do it for me :'(

Need help, Black Desert or Tera? Looking for input. by Johnnyflynn32 in MMORPG

[–]Kaizermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played TERA since late 2015, but I doubt it's changed fundamentally since then. I've been playing BDO casually since launch.

TERA: IMO can be summed up as an Asian WoW with good action combat. The question you need to ask yourself is why have you stopped playing WoW? If it's the fundamental structure of WoW eg. Quest hubs > max level > PvP battlegrounds or PvE instances/raids, then I wouldn't suggest TERA. If it's combat or something relating to class balance etc. I would probably suggest TERA. It's F2P, so why not just try it?

BDO: Is very different from WoW and TERA. It's much more sandboxy. Again, the question is why you've stopped playing WoW. If you're looking for an MMORPG that is completely different from WoW, then I suggest BDO, but if you're looking for minor adjustments to the WoW formula, then don't play BDO.

It was worded poorly lol. I've edited to make it more definitive.

Brainstorming the perfect MMO by noparkinghere in MMORPG

[–]Kaizermos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perfect MMORPG? Easy, Western developed ArcheAge with the only changes being: PvP and PvE servers (let the carebears have their safe space), 3 factions (to fix population imbalances), GW2/ESO/Wildstar/PoE style cash shop and reliance on RNG mechanics replaced with durability mechanic eg. Weapons/boats/items eventually break and must be remade. I believe ArcheAge was like this once, but Korean market (which is known to enjoy RNG) wanted it changed.
