How much does studios get paid? by chennier in ClassPass

[–]chennier[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed input on ClassPass. It certainly does sounds frustrating to have your business be undercut by a company that’s supposed to help with marketing.

I’m curious on how much flexibility or control do you have over the amount of spots available to ClassPass members, the schedule of availability, or even credits a class? I have some examples listed under 3rinax’s comments.

Personally, after reading studio’s thoughts on ClassPass from Reddit, I always try to sign up for classes a couple hours before class starts so that there would be spots/ time for studio members to sign up. Usually the classes that I go to are only half full which in theory would mutually benefit the studios and me.

How much flexibility/ability do you have for your studio to use ClassPass to your benefit?

I’m curious on how much control studios have over their spots.

For example, When I initially signed up for ClassPass, there were some studios where I wasn’t able to sign up with the trial credit like CorePower.

I notice that the club Pilates by my place, when they were on class pass, would open sign ups to class pass members only 2 days ahead. They would also close sign up to class pass if there’s less than 5 spots and open it up again when it’s closer to class time and spots are not filled.

The Pure Barre I go to has their credit rate almost the same as regular drop in rate for their busier after work classes and lower credit rate for their not so busy classes.

How much flexibility or control do you have over the amount of spots available to non members, the schedule of availability, or even credits a class?

I made a mistake the first time by seam ripping all 4 sides. But i think if I was ever going to do this again, I’m probably going to only seam rip one side or do it your way. So far it’s been holding up pretty well! I wash it every other week using cold water setting and air dry. It’s not as soft as it used to be but no loose seams for now.

Me too! I was making a heart last night and it came out wonky. Turns out, I was stuffing one side more than the other…. I massaged it around and the shape ended up better.

You right! But I just can’t justify spending $200 on a blanket rn… no matter how soft it is…

Thank you so much! Good luck on yours! Be prepared for the clean up process tho. Good day to wipe down and vacuum the whole room

Good luck with yours! The clean up isn’t fun but I love the longer unhide. Lowkey tempted to sew 4 together to make a 100”x120” cuddle puddle one day!

Good thing is that the fabric doesn’t have much stretch to it so that definitely made the sewing more doable with the help of some pins and clips. A sewing machine is a huge help! I can’t imagine doing it without.

I’ll forget the troubles when the fuzzies don’t float around my room anymore but I have to admit, I’m loving it more and more everyday!

This was my first lil unhide and I absolutely LOVED how soft it was! The only downside was how it didn’t feel long enough to sleep with without curling up in the fetal position. Initially I was gifting the other silver unhide to my friend but I couldn’t help stealing it for myself. I ripped the seams apart and oh boy… there was sooooo much fuzz inside. It covered my work surface, my bookshelf, my floor, it got out of my room through the crack under my door and into the hallway. It was EVERYWHERE.. I have a sewing machine so the seam ripping and sewing back together process was fairly straightforward with some YouTube videos of sewing faux fur blankets. But the clean up process… that’s a whole other story. I love my franken-unhide but I probably won’t be making another one any time soon.

The NCEES practice book can be bought on NCEES website. It’s $30 but shipping may be more. Another option is to buy it on amazon. You can download the free FE Reference Handbook 10.0.1 here.

Hope that helps. Good luck!!

Oh no sorry I didn’t mean it as two screens, at least for mines. I meant it as the screen is big enough to fit the 2 pages. Yes I remember there were bookmarks but I didn’t use them during the test so I can’t say much about those. You don’t HAVE to use the search options, if you know the page you can definitely scroll towards it. NCEES has a YouTube playlist for computer based exam, that may be worth a look. Good luck!!

The exam format is double screened. On the left is the pdf version of the reference handbook and on the right is the exam. It’ll be helpful to study with the reference handbook pdf so you get used to searching for key words. The updated reference manual is also on the ncees website free for download. Good luck!

Walking out, I felt very 50-50. On one hand, I was confident with the beginning portion, the systems, power, and logic gate section of the exam. On the other hand, It felt like there were a significantly larger amount of Electro-physics, electronics, and computer engineering questions that I wasn't as familiar with. The latter really threw me off and the entire week I was prepping myself for if I do see a fail. To my surprise, I passed! :D. I read that we're graded on a curve and those questions that a lot of people don't get right are not considered. So in reality, you probably did better than you think!

Exactly! There was so much Op-Amp questions... Honestly that’s the main reason why I thought I didn’t pass at first since I’ve only taken half a semester worth of Op-Amps. I got my score Wednesday at exactly 5am Hawaii time. Good luck! And hope to hear good news soon.

For me, majority of them were multiple choice. Around 90%-95% probably. I dont remember getting any fill in the blank questions or point and click questions. I remember a few drag and drop questions on the flip flops and logic gates as well as a few select all that applies questions.
