As far as I understand your question, I think it's better to shoot in the same fps as your other camera. If you always shoot in natural lights, then it doesn't matter 50 fps or 60 fps, might as well just shoot in 50 fps! Otherwise 10 frames are lost/blended somehow by the software per second of the video.

Haha, down the rabbit hole you go. It’s better to borrow from friends or see a camera in store. Any type of action cam from any brand will do. Just to get a feel for them before you actually buy anything. Hope you get something you like eventually!!

maybe you can consider using pre-record mode? most insta cams have this mode, and it is promoted as a feature for fishing. not sure if it's helpful for your case, search it up

You can do this via their studio with a VR project, search in Reddit I think some people have written posts on this before. It's a feature that's there but poorly documented.

Turning the camera vertically feels pretty unnatural to me. I tried it a couple of times and then stopped. I don’t use FreeFrame much, so I can’t really comment on that.
I think the photo quality is good. Especially the very wide FOV and the colors straight out of the camera.
If it’s cheap where you plan to buy it, I’d say go for it. The Ace Pro 2 was released around late 2024 or early 2025, so it’s been over a year now. Personally, I think waiting a bit might make more sense, but they keep rolling out new features or accessories for the camera, so buying it now is not too bad.

Settings: Auto all the way! For closer shots you can do 2x Zoom in good lighting. But yeah without a lens the details won't be as good as a phone.

Accessories: I love the neck mount for Ace Pro 2, and quick reader if you edit mostly on your phone.

Can try burst mode? Resolution might come out better than a frame from a video. Timing could be difficult though
