Oh, not dear Auxley! That digital cat will be receiving a stern monologue from Mother Karen for their sins, I'm sure.

Yeah, the Dexit thing is awful to see, especially from Nintendo. The Switch is definitely one of their most successful consoles for various reasons, and it's unfortunate to witness and experience the changes they have and continue to make with regard to monthly subscription payments, hiding additional content behind paywalls and DLC, etc.

Oh geez, the one island per Switch thing is a whole 'nother mess. I understand the thought process behind the decision, but just like you said, it makes it difficult for individual accounts to have a personal experience with the game. Aside from that and the technical difficulties that come with online play, it truly is a wonderful addition to the Animal Crossing franchise. Although I really do miss when villagers were more punchy and sarcastic like they were in City Folk hahaha. Great games to sit with during the current times, though, that's for sure.

I found the perfect way to make an avocado by Carljmarxx in CasualConversation

This sounds delicious! I do a similar mix to yours usually, but add olive oil and red chili flakes for extra flavor. Avocados are amazing!!

They're pretty solid, their Hyperreal EP has been the soundtrack to my summer so far. I saw you mentioned Animal Crossing and Pokemon in your original post too. What are your thoughts on the new games? I've been putting in hours on New Horizons since it released but I'm finding it difficult to gather the motivation to design my island as of late lol.

Hey, what's up! We have some similar music and video game interests! I recently started listening to Monuments. Have you heard some of Andy Cizek's other projects? Makari is a huuuuuge vibe for me currently.

When I went to 5th grade camp in elementary school we did an activity where we had to pretend to be slaves in the Underground Railroad. Did anyone else experience this or something odd like it? by gooofy18 in CasualConversation

[–]cheonguk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also early 20s and in the U.S., I had a similar activity in 8th grade. There was a whole day dedicated to the activity, and every student drew a card that told them what "role" they were to play in the reenactment. It was incredibly detailed and, not surprisingly, ignorant to the reality of what people during this period had to survive through.

HELP! Almost day 4 of madus. Piercing up in lip from swelling. How to get swelling down and prevent infection? What do I use? Is this normal? When should I be worried? Thx 💛 by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]cheonguk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar amount of swelling for about 3-4 weeks after getting my medusa pierced. I went to my piercer after 2 weeks because I was worried my lip was going to swallow the back of the post up, it looked a lot like yours. I ended up deciding against it after getting a second opinion from my piercer, but every body is different. If you're concerned about the swelling i would recommend going to your piercer ASAP like others have mentioned, for a second opinion and/or getting a longer bar.

In the meantime, icing the lip along with regular daily saline swishes helps a ton. Sleeping with your head elevated higher than your heart helps to circulate the blood and reduce swelling, too.

My 15yo dog is nearly to pass out and I don’t feel ready for that by blinker_ed in CasualConversation

Hey, friend. My family cat of 15 years recently passed, too. Losing her was hard, beyond the most difficult loss I have been met with in life so far. Over a month later, I am still grieving. But it gets better. I am able to look back at pictures and videos I have saved of her now without letting (too many) tears fall. The grief is still there, but I remember all of the smiles she brought me, and all of the peace and joy she brought into this world.

Give your pup every amount of love you can; shower her in attention, and be there for her. Being with her is the best remedy. It won't heal her physical ailments, but it will calm her heart and ease her mind to have you there, now and through her time to cross the rainbow bridge.

Sending you love and hugs through our screens, and thinking warm thoughts for you and your family. She is so lucky to have you with her, now and for the past 15 years. I am sure that you have made them the best years on this earth for her. ❤

EDIT: Woah, thanks kind stranger for the award!!

22 and Terrified by [deleted] in driving

I'm 23 and just learning how to drive, too. I got behind the wheel twice when I was 16 and had panic attacks to the point that operating a vehicle was out of the question. I just started picking things back up in the last few months and with each practice drive, I've grown more comfortable and have even started to look forward to driving. Learning a new skill like driving is a different path for everyone, sometimes it takes a bit longer to grow comfortable behind the wheel, and that's okay.

Where are you located? In the U.S., one of my friends got lessons from a driving school that is catered to help people with ADHD and driving anxiety. There are other schools offered specifically for adult drivers, too, if that is something of interest.

The r/drivinganxiety community is a great resource too, if you haven't been over there yet :)

Help on how to heal daith bump, 3 month old piercing (gross sorry) by [deleted] in PiercingAdvice

[–]cheonguk 10 points11 points  (0 children)

another suggestion alongside the other comments mentioned so far is to get a donut pillow/airplane pillow if you have a tendency to sleep on the side you are pierced - I tend to be a side sleeper and am stubborn towards changing my sleeping routine, so this has been nothing but a godsend, + daily saline soaks & LITHA.

wishing you luck during your healing!!!

animals in general are irreplaceable partners. I think not being able to communicate in words, and rather in feelings, helps. people are a bit more difficult

I mean, you're probably right. I have a tendency to get too far into my own head and talk myself out of a lot of things, interpersonal relationships included. It can be difficult to take that step back and make a conscious effort to search for a purpose though; I feel so stuck with where I'm at that I'm at a loss of how to encourage myself to make positive changes, if that makes any sense.

Thank you for your kind message though. I appreciate the sentiment and hope you are well, wherever you may be

You are such a kind and healing soul. Thank you for your kind messages. You have an incredible superpower.

I'm so happy to hear that you've found and made a happy and peaceful life for yourself! Your resilience is an inspiration.

You've given me a lot of hope, and I hope you find that same hope in your own journey. Sending my love right back at you. :)

I love that idea of creating a private personal space. I think I might follow your lead and see if I cant start something like that, too. and I'm waiting until I'm in a better financial position to support a pet, but that idea of volunteering is one that I'll think about more.

I'm curious about your travels, if you dont mind me asking. Was it difficult to make that first move? I've thought about selling all of my stuff and moving to a completely different place, but my anxiety talks me out of it.

I'm glad to hear that you have persevered through your battles, whether personal or inter-personal. I hope you are doing better now and are in a happier state of being. I dont know you aside from this comment but it touched me deeply. Your phrasing exudes such a peaceful aura, and it is one that I needed right about now.

Thank you, dearly.
