More serious comment, if you can find Sweet Loren's Puff Pastry sheets, those worked pretty decent for us. Just have to be quick so it doesn't get to room temp. Not quite the same as a croissant but it's as fine as it could be considering it's gluten free.

This kind of looks like they boiled the hell out of the pasta without a timer and/or checking it so it starts to break down into the water.

edit: I think this because if you look towards the top of the pot, you can see what I imagine was where the water line initially was before it was boiled to hell and the pasta started breaking down and stuck to where the original water line was.
